The Spire of the Watcher weapon refresh has been kind to its weapons in Destiny 2. However, there is one exception to that. Liminal Vigil has barely received an upgrade for PvE or PvP. PvE sees a slight increase, but it will unlikely be the most chased weapon during the Rite of Nine event. Should players want to chase the sidearm, we have got you covered.
Liminal Vigil is a Heavy Burst Stasis Sidearm. The Heavy Burst archetype finds most of its purchase in Destiny 2 on the PvP Playgrounds. It often struggles in PvE due to its lower-than-average total damage and ad-clear potential. The perks perform well, so the potency of the Sidearm is significantly higher in PvP and PvE.
It has six perks in each column, totaling up to twelve for players to consider. The left column’s perks are Attrition Orbs, Enlightened Action, Headstone, Lone Wolf, Perpetual Motion, and Tap the Trigger. The right column has Desperado, Desperate Measures, Kill Clip, Rangefinder, Rimestealer, and To the Pain.
Liminal Vigil’s perks are not the worst for PvE, with many used on other weapons. However, due to its archetype, it will struggle to match the efficacy of weapons with these perks. The premier perk for it, as with most Stasis weapons, is Headstone. Creating a Stasis crystal with a headshot elimination has high potential since it can help deal with hordes of enemies. Rimestealer becomes a natural pairing with Headstone. Destroying the crystal created by Headstone gives you Frost Armor. The other perk choice in the right column is Desperate Measures for the increased weapon damage. Desperate Measures is painless to keep going, so it is often a free damage increase for players.
PvP is where the Liminal Vigil will shine. The Time to Kill on Heavy Burst Sidearms is quite lethal. To increase the potency of the Sidearm, we use Tap the Trigger. The increased Stability and Accuracy make it significantly easier to land the critical hits. Kill Clip is the perk of choice in the right column for the increased damage on reload from eliminations. Kill Clip will help you continue your kill streaks and keep your opponents penned into their spawn. The one issue with the Sidearm is range, so we want to increase that to ensure we find kills from greater distances.
Liminal Vigil drops from the Spire of the Watcher dungeon with the Rite of the Nine update. The weapon has four variations: Base, Base Shiny, Adept, and Adept Shiny. It drops from the Persys encounter and the bonus chests throughout the dungeon. Players can use Nonary Manifolds at the Third Spire chest to acquire more Liminal Vigils. The Adept version of the Sidearm drops from the Third Spire chest, and the Ultimatum version of Spire of the Watcher.
