Alright, Guardians, let’s talk about the new “Ash and Iron” update. Bungie dropped this “major” mid-season update, and everyone’s been buzzing about whether it’s actually, you know, major. So far, it’s packing more heat than a usual season, and a big part of that is the new Reclaim event. Let’s dive in and see if the loot is worth the grind.

What is the Reclaim Event in Destiny 2?

So, what’s the deal with Reclaim? Bungie is sending us back to the Cosmodrome and the Plague Lands to, well, reclaim some territory from the Conductor’s forces. Because apparently, they didn’t get the memo that we own this system. You choose one of three paths, each with four areas to conquer. It’s a classic three-player, narrative-driven activity where you defeat enemies, complete objectives, and open chests to make progress. The goal? Push the Conductor’s troops out of Sol for good and look stylish doing it.

The Reclaim event kicked off on September 9, 2025, and it’s free for all players for one week. So, if you’ve been on the fence, now’s the time to jump in and grab some exclusive loot before it’s gone. Don’t be that Guardian who misses out and complains about it for the next six months.

How to Get Your Hands on Reclaim Weapons

Let’s be real, we’re all here for the shiny new toys. The Reclaim event introduces some spicy new weapons, and here’s how you can snag them. You can earn Reclaim weapons by:

  • Completing Reclaim activities: The better your score, the better your chances at sweet loot. So, play the objective, people!
  • Ranking up the Event Rank Track: You can get some slick holofoil versions of the event weapons at ranks 5 and 10.
  • Cashing in Reclaim Engrams: Grind those activities, get those engrams. You know the drill.
  • Spending Event Tokens: Got 100 Event Tokens burning a hole in your pocket? You can buy the weapons directly from the Event Shop.

A little heads-up: your drops are tied to your Guardian Rank. So, if you’ve been slacking, maybe spend some time climbing those ranks before you dive deep into the Reclaim grind. It’ll be worth it.

The New Loot: Is It Worth It?

Now for the main event: the weapons! The Reclaim event offers three exclusive weapons, and one of them is a brand-new crossbow. Yes, you read that right—a crossbow.

  • Folded Root (Void Rocket Launcher): Because you can never have too many ways to make things go boom. It’s a heavy hitter that’s perfect for clearing out crowds or putting a dent in a boss.

  • Romantic Death (Void Grenade Launcher): What a name, right? This special grenade launcher promises some explosive romance. Or, you know, just a lot of Void explosions. Same thing, really.

  • Submersion (Stasis Combat Bow): Here it is, the star of the show. A heavy Stasis crossbow. I can already see the YouTube montages. Get ready to freeze your enemies in style.

You can buy the Folded Root and Romantic Death from the Reward Shop, but you’ll have to grind for that crossbow. During the event, you can also complete daily and weekly challenges in the Event Home screen to earn more rewards, like the “Simmered Down” emblem and even more holofoil weapons.

So, is the Reclaim event worth your time? If you’re looking for some fresh loot and a fun, narrative-driven activity to break up the seasonal monotony, then absolutely. It’s a free, week-long event with unique weapons and a chance to use a crossbow in Destiny 2, finally. What’s not to love? Now get out there, reclaim some land, and make the Vanguard proud. Or at least get some cool new guns.
