Dying Light 2 is back with its first major update since its release in 2022. After Dying Light: The Beast’s most positive reception, Techland has decided to focus on the live-service Dying Light 2. This winter update is called Winter Tales: Gifts from Above 2025. Here’s all that comes with this new update.
Things have been pretty quiet with Dying Light 2 news for a while now, especially with the release of the new Dying Light: The Beast. However, Techland has revealed a winter update for the sequel, dubbed Winter Tales: Gifts from Above 2025. The update will feature a new bundle available for purchase at the game store, and daily challenges and rewards that will be available from December 18 to January 8, 2026.
The winter update features The Evolving Bundle, an interactive set that gets better once you’ve bought it, with the various items in the set evolving and taking on new forms. Baka, the vendor, will also be back in this new update, with more bounties to complete and items to buy in his shop. These items can be bought with Candies collected from killing seasonal zombie enemies.
Lastly, from December 18 to January 8, 2026, community goals are being kick-started to allow players access to even more gear. Here is a list of challenges to complete:
As part of the announcement for the winter update, Techland has also revealed some huge discounts for other games in the series, including 20% off Dying Light: The Beast and 70% off Dying Light 2 across all platforms. This is the first major update for Dying Light 2 and offers so much content, so don’t miss out on this limited-time update.
