Have you ever wondered what Animal Crossing would look like after a couple of decades of late-stage capitalism? Well, look no further because a dev has answered that question for you. Easy Delivery Co. is a new low-poly delivery sim that takes all the charm of village life and slaps a gig-economy grind over it, throwing a soul-crushing bit of sprinkles on top.
This upcoming game was developed by Oro Interactive, and it drops you into a world where your job is to deliver packages for a paycheck. Realistic, check! There aren’t any epic quests, no monsters, or NPC romance—just…you, your packages, and the ever-present worry that to make your rent on time, your truck is going to get a whole lot of mileage.
Visually, Easy Delivery Co. looks like a wonderful Animal Crossing town, and then Nook’s Corner, the lifeblood of the town, went bankrupt and sent it into a decline, and all the town has left is pixelated gloom. Cozy, familiar, but not at all comforting. Think, “What if your daily life were the game?”
The devs describe Easy Delivery Co.’s tone as “post-cute,” which seems fitting (if not scarily realistic). The game allows players to reflect on the gig-economy while also laughing at the boss, who looks like a cute little woodland creature, gives you yet another shift that will slowly crush your soul!
The thing about Easy Delivery Co. is that there’s not really one overarching mission to accomplish, kind of like everyday life. There are a few sprinkles here and there of missions as you do your daily grind, but ultimately, it’s just a cute version of a delivery sim. It’s a game about doing work and thinking about how you feel about it.
This is a perfect game for those who like chill games that slowly descend them into existential dread (yes, we see you). This might be one of the weirdest games of 2025, but it’s a hidden gem that’s worth a second look. There’s no firm release date for the game, but here’s hoping that it will release this year so that we get our existential dread fix.
