Escoffier: The Fierce Frosty Culinary Queen of Fontaine

I hope everyone saved room for dessert because it’s time to return to Fontaine and meet the new addition to Genshin’s character roster, Escoffier. A Polearm, 5-Star unit who specializes in Off-Field Cryo application and healing, she is probably the best chef in the land of Hydro. In terms of personality, let’s be blunt, she’s Gordon Ramsay in a dress. And, in case you aren’t aware, her name is pronounced “Es-cough-EE-Ah”. Like the famous chef… but in a dress.

How Does Escoffier Work

Escoffier’s kit is pretty easy to understand. Tap her Elemental Skill on Cooldown (CD) to summon a floating crockpot that hurls ice cream at nearby enemies and use her Burst when it comes up. That’s it. Pretty cut and dry.

Escoffier’s Skill is the main crux of her playstyle. It has a duration of 20 seconds and a CD of 15 seconds, so you can have it up indefinitely. It will throw out parfait every second (so 20 parfaits in total), which deals Cryo DMG. This allows her to apply a massive amount of Cryo to enemies, while Off-Field, making her perfect Freeze and Melt teams.

Don’t Forget the Garnish

Her Burst is somewhat less important. It’s a good chunk of initial DMG plus a decent, party-wide Heal. Thanks to her first Passive, she will also Heal the party every second for 9 seconds after she uses her Burst. If you have her personal weapon, this is very important and increases her overall performance. If not, it’s just some nice DMG and Healing.

What To Build on Escoffier

Golden Troupe for a DMG forward build, Song of Days Past if you want her to be a universal Support, Tenacity of the Millelith if you want her to be a Support for ATK-based characters specifically. Up to you which you prefer.

Stat-wise, she likes ATK. Can’t go wrong if you have ATK in your Clock, Cup, and Hat. CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG, and Energy Recharge are good Substats. Elemental is not important unless you are going for Reverse Melt. If you want to optimize her personal damage, you can switch out an ATK Cup for a Cryo Cup.

Symphonist of Scents, her personal weapon, is the best option. Gives her Burst a little more utility. Otherwise, Vortex Vanquisher or Calamity Queller are good 5-Star options. For 4-Stars, Prospector’s Drill or Missive Windspear would be your best bets.

Who Does Escoffier Synergize With

Freeze teams. Any team that specializes in Freeze comps would love her. Specific characters included Ayaka, Wriothesley, Ganyu, Furina, Neuvillette, and Yelan.

She can also be used with Mavuika for a Forward Melt team. You’ll lose out on Escoffier’s Cryo/Hydro RES shred, but you can bring Xilonen instead of Citlali and get RES shred from her instead.
