April is shaping up to be a busy month for PS Plus, and not just because the Essential lineup announcement got pushed back thanks to the way the calendar landed. The bigger story — and the one subscribers should be paying attention to — is the wave of departures hitting PS Plus Extra on April 21st, 2026. Six games across PS5 and PS4 are officially on the chopping block, and once they’re gone, they’re gone for good unless you buy them outright.
This is one of those months where the “Last Chance to Play” section actually lives up to its name. If any of these titles have been sitting in your backlog, this is your warning: you’ve got just over three weeks to move them to the front of the line.
Sony has confirmed that the following titles will be removed from the PS Plus Extra catalog:
EA’s modern golf sim is the biggest technical showcase on this list. It’s polished, it’s gorgeous, and it’s one of the better sports titles EA has put out in recent years. The swing mechanics are tight, the course recreations are stunning, and the career mode has enough depth to keep you busy for dozens of hours. If you’ve been meaning to try it, now’s the time — this one won’t be cheap once it leaves PS Plus.
Don’t let the quieter marketing fool you — Lost Records: Bloom & Rage is one of the more emotionally grounded narrative games to hit PS5 in the last year. It’s a story about friendship, memory, and the kind of unresolved tension that follows you into adulthood. If you’re a fan of Life Is Strange–style storytelling, this is absolutely worth squeezing in before it disappears.
This one stings. Dave the Diver is one of those rare games that feels like it was built in a lab to be addictive. Part deep‑sea exploration, part restaurant management, part chaotic fever dream, it’s the kind of game you sit down with “just to try” and suddenly it’s 2 a.m. The PS Plus version includes all the post‑launch updates, so if you haven’t played it yet, you’re missing out on one of the most charming indie hits of the decade.
A chaotic, neon‑soaked arcade platformer that’s best played with friends. It’s simple, loud, and surprisingly challenging once you get into the later levels. If you’re looking for something quick and fun to break up your heavier games, this is a great palate cleanser — and it’s short enough to finish before the deadline.
An indie classic. TowerFall Ascension is one of the best couch‑multiplayer games ever made, full stop. It’s fast, it’s frantic, and it’s still one of the most satisfying competitive platformers on PlayStation. Losing this one from PS Plus hurts, especially for anyone who still hosts local game nights.
A strange, earnest, and often surprisingly heartfelt disaster‑survival adventure. It’s not the most polished game on the list, but it has a charm that’s hard to explain unless you’ve played it. If you like offbeat Japanese titles that swing for the fences, this is worth checking out before it’s gone.
Unlike PS Plus Essential, where you keep the monthly games as long as your subscription stays active, PS Plus Extra works differently. Once a game leaves the Extra catalog, your access disappears with it — even if you downloaded it. If you want to keep playing any of these titles after April 21st, you’ll have to buy them outright.
That gives you just over three weeks to wrap up anything you’ve started… or finally dive into the games you’ve been telling yourself you’d get to “eventually.”
This month’s removals hit a wide range of genres — sports, narrative adventure, indie darlings, arcade chaos, and niche Japanese titles. It’s a reminder of how eclectic the PS Plus Extra library has become, and how quickly it can shift.
It also highlights something longtime subscribers already know: PS Plus is at its best when you treat it like a rotating library, not a permanent archive. Games come and go. Some departures hurt more than others. And every once in a while, a game you ignored for months suddenly becomes the thing you’re scrambling to finish before the deadline.
April is one of those months.
