A storm of controversy has erupted around FaZe Clan, one of the most influential names in esports, following serious allegations involving former members FaZe Rain, FaZe Temperrr, and FaZe Banks.
The drama began on September 14 when Nordan Shat, known online as FaZe Rain, went live on stream and made a startling accusation. Without naming names, he claimed a former FaZe member had engaged in inappropriate behavior with a minor—an incident he said had weighed on him for two years.
Speculation spread quickly. Within hours, FaZe Banks (Richard Bengston) stepped in to clarify that Rain’s comments were aimed at Thomas Oliveira, better known as FaZe Temperrr. Banks said the matter had been discussed privately years ago in a call that included Rain, Temperrr, and FaZe Apex.
Temperrr initially denied the claims, calling them “twisted” and “insane.” But later that same day, he posted a second video admitting to a sexual encounter with a 17-year-old girl in New York. He said they met at a 21+ club and that he didn’t know her age at the time. While noting that 17 is the legal age of consent in New York, Temperrr said he felt “sick to his stomach” upon learning the truth.
FaZe Clan responded the next day with a public statement. The organization released an updated roster and made it clear that anyone not listed was no longer affiliated with FaZe.
Rain followed up with more details, saying he had informed Banks, Apex, and former CEO Lee Trink about the incident years ago. He accused Temperrr of bragging about the encounter and trying to justify it using state laws. Temperrr, in turn, claimed Rain had attempted to blackmail him.
The situation has sparked intense debate across the gaming community, raising questions about accountability, ethics, and the role of influencers in shaping culture. As of now, no legal action has been confirmed, but the reputational fallout is already taking shape.
