Version 5.6 of Genshin Impact is now underway. Which means that it’s time for leaks for Version 5.7. Curious about what’s coming? Well, here is a rundown of all the current information available. Spoiler alert, the 2 upcoming characters are pretty good, so you might want to start farming now.
All leaks are subject to change. As such, a full, in-depth, definitive analysis of a character, weapon, artifact set, or event would be ill-advised at this time. To that end, I’ll be covering the base level premise of each character so that you can make a moderately informed decision on which character(s) you want to prepare for.
If you want a full guide for a character, check out my work here when the character is released.
A Sword-wielding, Cryo main DPS, Skirk’s kit revolves around Normal Attacks. Like her student, Tartaglia, her Elemental Skill activates a stance that replaces her Normal Attack DMG Modifiers with its own, stronger ones.
Her Elemental Burst, meanwhile, uses an alternative Energy system to cast normally, or can be cast for free while she’s in her Skill’s special stance.
Her passive talents allow her to create Void Rifts when her party triggers Cryo-related reactions (which she can use to power her Burst), increase the DMG of her Normal Attack and Element when either Hydro or Cryo characters deal damage (excluding herself), and increase the entire Party’s Elemental Skill levels by 1 when she is in party with only Hydro and Cryo characters (and at least 1 of each).
Skirk uses the Contention book to level up her Talents, and her ascension materials are Clockwork gears (Clockwork Meka), Skysplit Gembloom (Collective of Plenty), Ensnaring Gaze (Tenebrous Papilla), and Ascended Sample: Knight (Chess Weekly Boss).
The newest 4-Star character, Dahlia, is a Sword-wielding, Hydro Support who is the first true Hydro Shield character (Candance doesn’t count). He is a split scaler with his DMG coming from ATK, while his Shields are influenced by HP.
Dahlia’s Elemental Burst grants a buff to the party that creates a shield. The distinction is very important because, while the buff is active, Dahlia will gain stacks of Benison, which can be used to create new shields should the original break.
Dahlia’s Elemental Skill is, in effect, a situation landmine. If an enemy touches it, it explodes and deals damage. If an ally touches it, it instead acts as a trampoline and bounces them up into the air. Ultimately, however, it’s little more than a battery for his Burst.
His talents grant him 2 stacks of Benison when a Frozen reaction is triggered, increase the ATK SPD of the active character based on Dahlia’s HP (while the buff from his Burst is active), and increase the party’s Movement SPD during the daytime.
Dahlia uses Ballad books to level up his talents. His ascension materials are Arrowhead (Hilicurl Shooters), Calla Lily (Mondstadt), Secret Source Airflow Accumulator (Secret Source Automaton: Overseer Device), and Eroded Scale-Feather (Corrupted Dragon Weekly Boss).
Skirk’s personal weapon. After the wielder uses their Elemental Skill, they gain increased ATK. If the character in question also happens to have 0 Energy, their ATK will be further increased, and they will also gain extra CRIT DMG.
As of right now, Skirk is the only one who can use the weapon effectively. You could potentially give someone the Simenawa’s Reminiscence set, which drains Energy whenever a character casts their Elemental Skill, but that seems like it would be a lot to juggle.
The main event seems to be a large-scale Chess event. There are PvE and PvP elements to it. While the full scope is not yet known, gameplay seems to incorporate chess pieces, equipment, and artifacts. There is also a shop from which equipment can be sold to earn tokens (which are used to upgrade talents). Completing stages also rewards tokens.
Other events included Boom Boom Colorful Firepower (Slime Ball), Reminiscent Regimen: Grand Duel Chapter (combat), and Overflow event (should be the Talent book one). There may also be a Candy Crush-style game, but only a single picture of that has been shown, so it’s more nebulous.
There will also be new End Game content called Tumult Subduer. Effectively, the player challenges several bosses (3 to be exact). The battles are timed. There are several levels of difficulty, and clearing higher levels of difficulty will grant the rewards from the lower levels.
For the first 10 days of every phase, you can spend resin to gain more rewards. The more you spend, the more rewards you can get. All characters will start a fight at 0 Energy (that’s annoying). The first 3 Bosses are slotted to be Hydro Tulpa, Lava Dragon Statue, and Secret Source Automaton: Overseer Device.
A Character Story Quest will be added for Skirk, as well as a new Archon Quest (probably the Dainsleif quest). There will also be a few new Anecdotes Quests (when you find characters out in the world and chat with them for a bit).
For the TCG gameplay, new cards will be added. 3 new character cards (Citlali, Mavuika, and Chasca) and their accompanying Talent cards, 1 new weapon card (The Dockhand’s Assistant), 2 new artifact cards (Crown of Saints and Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City), and several other support cards, one of which depicts Capitano.
Regarding Imaginarium Theater rewards, 2 new echoes will be added (Raiden Shogun and Shenhe) and 4 new Thespian Tricks (Mualani, Lyney, Yaoyao, and Charlotte).
There are quite a few this time around.
