Hello, fellow tiny survivors! Ready to become the ultimate disk hunter in Grounded 2? Trust me, I’ve been crawling through every nook and cranny of this bug-infested wonderland, dodging cockroaches the size of school buses and freezing my miniature butt off in ice cream carts. But hey, that’s what makes this game absolutely fantastic!

In Grounded 2, locating every optical disk is more than simply a task; doing so advances your survival narrative and unlocks some delicious rewards. I’m here to reveal all the details about the whereabouts of these elusive disks after many hours of exploration (and a few humiliating deaths at the hands of irate ants).

The Importance of Optical Disks for Your Tiny Adventure

Let’s discuss why you truly want these disks before we start the treasure search. Not only is each optical disk a shiny souvenir, but it also unlocks important building recipes, gives you Raw Science points, and reveals more of the game’s intriguing backstory. You can earn 1000 Raw Science points from some disks, which is absolutely massive for upgrading your gear and base!

When you’re hardly bigger than a pebble on this enormous planet, the excitement of finding each disk is like unearthing hidden treasure. Additionally, the difficulty of getting to some of these places will put all of your survival skills to the test.

Disk Location #1: The Snackbar Anthill Challenge

Let’s start with what I consider the most straightforward disk hunt – the Snackbar Turbo Optical Disk. Head over to the Snackbar Anthill area, and you’ll spot this underground maze pretty easily thanks to that distinctive green building marking the entrance.

Once you’re inside this ant metropolis, things get interesting in a hurry. The tunnels here are like a miniature subway system, except instead of commuters, you’ve got worker ants scurrying around minding their own business. Take the right pathway when you hit the first major split, and keep your eyes peeled for two pebbles acting as natural landmarks.

Behind these pebbles, you’ll discover a chest that’s practically screaming “loot me!” – and inside, your first optical disk awaits. The whole experience feels like a proper dungeon crawl, just with more antennae and considerably less treasure chests.

Disk Location #2: Toxic Anthill’s Dangerous Depths

Now we’re talking serious business! The Toxic Anthill Optical Disk requires some genuine courage because you’ll be venturing into the lair of the absolutely terrifying Cockroach Queen. This isn’t your average house roach – this thing could probably bench press a bottle cap!

Navigate to the Toxic Anthill South Entrance (look for that picnic table landmark) and prepare yourself for a properly spooky underground adventure. The tunnels here have this ominous green glow that immediately tells you “Hey, maybe don’t lick the walls.”

Follow the left passage until you hit the poisonous-looking section, then hang a right to dive deeper into the anthill. You’ll pass through areas crawling with cockroach nymphs that honestly give me the creeps every single time. Push through to reach the queen’s chamber, where Employee 119’s remains mark your prize location.

The optical disk sits right next to this poor soul and grabbing it nets you 1000 Raw Science plus recipes for Fortified Bases, Acorn Stairs, Ladders, and Teeny Terracotta. Pretty sweet haul for facing down your fears!

Disk Location #3: Spider Den Underground Network

The Spider Den Optical Disk takes you to Pine Hill, where that rocket-shaped landmark points you toward the Spider Den Anthill North Entrance. This location has this almost ethereal quality – less industrial than the other anthills, more mysterious and web-covered.
The approach here requires some parkour skills as you’ll need to navigate through bushes and follow the left-side path to reach higher ground. Once you spot that telltale hole in the ground, you’re golden.

The underground network here feels different from the ant tunnels – more organic, with that distinctly spidery architecture that makes your skin crawl in the best possible way. Head west from the entrance, drop into the opening, and follow the path as it winds right, then forward, then left into a science equipment area.

Employee 210’s body marks your destination, and the disk waits patiently nearby. The whole journey feels like exploring some ancient underground temple, except the guardians have eight legs and anger management issues.

Disk Location #4: Ice Cream Cart Frozen Challenge

Here’s where things get absolutely brutal – the Ice Cream Cart Optical Disk. This location doesn’t mess around with the difficulty, throwing extreme cold temperatures at you that’ll freeze your tiny character solid if you’re not prepared.

Preparation is everything for this challenge. You’ve got several survival strategies: hunt down bees to craft Fuzzy Gear (my personal favorite because who doesn’t want to look fabulous while freezing?), stockpile Spicy Shards for emergency warming, or bring enough healing items to basically tank the cold damage through pure stubbornness.

The Ice Cream Cart itself is this massive frozen fortress that feels both inviting and terrifying. Climbing up through the main structure gives you the best access, though brave souls can attempt the cone entrance for extra style points.

Inside, you’ll face a choice between left and right paths. The left leads to bonus loot at the cart’s top, but your disk treasure requires taking the right path. Navigate between the ice cream cones like you’re playing the world’s coldest platformer, and you’ll find Employee 331’s remains with your final disk prize.

Disk Location #5: Network Center’s High-Security Area

The Network Center TURBO Optical Disk brings a completely different challenge – you’ll need to prove your combat skills by defeating Bandit to access Level 05. This feels like infiltrating some high-tech facility, complete with security measures and restricted access.

Once you’ve handled the gatekeeper, the disk waits on a desk behind the secured door. The whole setup feels very corporate espionage, which fits perfectly with Grounded 2’s mysterious scientific backdrop.

Disk Location #6: TURBO Stolen Optical Disk

The final disk hides in a small cave behind a Dead Root, accessible through the Tunnel Entrance. You’ll find it sitting on a sideways cabinet, and honestly, this location feels like someone’s secret stash spot. The “stolen” designation in the name suggests there’s definitely some shady backstory here.

Pro Tips for Successful Disk Hunting

After all my adventures collecting these disks, here are the essential survival tips that’ll save your tiny life:

Gear Up Properly: Each location demands different preparation. Cold resistance for the Ice Cream Cart, combat readiness for the Network Center, and general survival gear for the anthill expeditions.
Map Knowledge is Power: Study your surroundings and use landmarks effectively. That picnic table, rocket shape, and distinctive building markers aren’t just decoration – they’re your navigation lifeline.
Patience Pays Off: Some disks require careful exploration and puzzle-solving. Don’t rush through areas or you might miss crucial details.
Stock Up on Supplies: Healing items, food, and emergency gear can turn a failed expedition into a successful treasure hunt.

The Sweet Rewards Await

Collecting all these optical disks transforms your Grounded 2 experience completely. The Raw Science points alone will supercharge your technology tree, while the unlocked recipes open up entirely new building and crafting possibilities.
