You’re wandering through Hell Is Us, feeling pretty good about yourself, and then BAM! A locked door appears, and suddenly, you’re questioning your entire gaming ability. Don’t worry, though—those pesky Senedra Forest dungeon doors aren’t going to stay closed forever, and I’m here to help you crack them open like a pro!

The thing is, there are actually TWO doors in this forest that’ll have you scratching your head, and honestly? The game doesn’t exactly hold your hand through either puzzle. But hey, that’s what makes it fun, right? (Right? Please tell me I’m not the only one who enjoys a good head-scratcher!)

How to Open the First Door: The One Next to That Poor Injured Soldier

Alright, let’s start with the obvious one—the door right next to that injured soldier who’s having what can only be described as the worst day of his military career. Poor guy’s just sitting there, probably wondering why he didn’t choose a desk job instead.

Here’s the deal: after you’ve done your good deed for the day and given that soldier the med kit (because we’re not monsters, people!), he’ll hand you a strange key. Classic video game logic—help someone out, get a mysterious object in return. Works every time!

Now, don’t just walk up to the door and expect it to magically open. Oh no, that would be too easy! Instead, you need to channel your inner Spider-Man and start climbing. Head to the left of the door and you’ll spot a ladder. Climb it, then climb the next ladder to get on top of the structure.

Once you’re up there, insert that strange key into the slot. Suddenly, three poles with symbols will pop up like some ancient arcade game. Here’s where things get interesting (and by interesting, I mean mildly frustrating if you’re impatient like me).

You need to find three specific symbols scattered around the area:

Fire symbol: Check the side room ahead
Eye symbol: Also in that same side room (convenient!)
Pickaxe symbol: This sneaky little guy is broken off and sitting on the floor back the way you came

From left to right, input them as: Fire, Eye, Pickaxe. Boom! Door’s open, and you can finally stop feeling like you’re missing something obvious.

The Second Door: Because One Puzzle Wasn’t Enough Apparently

After you’ve survived your first combat tutorial (congratulations on not dying, by the way!), you’ll encounter another locked door. Because apparently, the developers thought, “You know what this game needs? More doors that require ancient symbol knowledge to open!”

This time, the clues are playing hard to get. Head right from the door to find an archive area. Here’s where your drone becomes your best friend—scan those three tablets scattered around the area. They’ll give you the solution, assuming you can decipher ancient puzzle logic (spoiler alert: it’s not that hard once you know what you’re looking for).

Return to the door and interact with it. You’ll see a circular interface that looks like something out of an Indiana Jones movie. Going from the inside of the circle to the outside, input these symbols:

Tower (inner ring)
Snake (middle ring)
Fire (outer ring)

And just like that, the door swings open! Take that, ancient puzzle designers!

Purpose of the Doors

Look, I get it. Puzzle doors can be frustrating when you just want to get on with the story. But honestly? These Senedra Forest puzzles are pretty well-designed once you know what you’re doing. They’re not overly complex, but they’re not insultingly simple either.

The first door teaches you to pay attention to your environment and rewards you for helping NPCs. The second door introduces you to the drone mechanics and encourages exploration. It’s actually pretty clever game design, even if it doesn’t feel that way when you’re stuck staring at symbols for the tenth time!
