Serve your enemies a meal they can’t easily digest with the best Honkai: Star Rail Jiaoqiu build. A 5-Star character following The Nihility, Jiaoqiu deals Fire Damage and specializes in applying DoT to enemies consistently on top of debuffing them in various ways.

Jiaoqiu’s Skill, Scorch Onslaught, deals Fire Damage based on his Attack to an enemy as well as adjacent foes. This move has a high chance to inflict one stack of Ashen Roast to the main target. In addition to this Skill, Jiaoqiu’s Basic Attack and Ultimate can inflict Ashen Roast, too. Each stack of Ashen Roast increases the damage taken by the afflicted enemy. Ashen Roast lasts for two turns and each foe can have a maximum of five stacks. Ashen Roast also counts as Burn, dealing Fire Damage based on his Attack at the start of the enemy’s turn.

His Ultimate, Pyrograph Arcanum, afflicts all enemies on the field with a number of Ashen Roast stacks equal to the highest number of stacks currently on the battlefield – so you’ll want to time this move well. It then deals Fire Damage based on his Attack to all enemies and creates a Zone that will last three turns. Inside the Zone, enemies suffer increased Ultimate Damage and there’s a chance for them to be inflicted with Ashen Roast when they take action. This effect can trigger up to six times and only once per target every turn.

Jiaoqiu’s Eidolon Levels, which can be obtained by pulling additional copies of him, further boost his power. Eidolon 1 allows allies to deal increased damage to enemies afflicted by Ashen Roast and doubles the amount of stacks whenever the effect is inflicted by Jiaoqiu’s Talent. Eidolon 2 boosts the DoT dealt by Ashen Roast, while Eidolon 4 reduces the Attack of all enemies caught in the Zone. Eidolon 6 transfers all Ashen Roast stacks on defeated enemies to those still on the field and increases the maximum number of stacks to nine. In addition each stack reduced the All-Type Resistance of enemies.

Honkai: Star Rail – Jiaoqiu: best Light Cones

Jiaoqiu primarily wants two stats: Attack to maximize his damage and Effect Hit Rate to ensure that he can consistently inflict Ashen Roast on enemies. Effect Hit Rate even helps bolster his Attack when it surpasses a certain threshold, thanks to one of his Traces.

His signature Light Cone, Those Many Springs, checks all the boxes: It comes with a significant Effect Hit Rate buff and comes with the chance for attacks to inflict a debuff called Unarmored. Enemies affected by this status receive additional damage for two turns. If the target is currently affected by a DoT from the wearer – which is almost certainly going to be the case – Unarmored may be upgraded to Cornered, which makes the foe even more vulnerable.

The fact Jiaoqiu can inflict two debuffs at once when using this Light Cone makes it incredible if you plan on using him with Acheron, since this will make it very easy to charge her Ultimate – in general, The Nihility has a ton of great options to offer, though.

Best Light Cones for Jiaoqiu in HSR:

  • Those Many Springs (5-Star)
  • Reforged Remembrance (5-Star)
  • Incessant Rain (5-Star)
  • Patience Is All You Need (5-Star)
  • In the Name of the World (5-Star)
  • It’s Showtime (4-Star)
  • Eyes of the Prey (4-Star)
  • Solitary Healing (5-Star)
  • Good Night and Sleep Well (4-Star)
  • Before the Tutorial Mission Starts (4-Star)

Honkai: Star Rail – Jiaoqiu: best Relics

Attack and Effect Hit Rate (target around 140%) are the two key stats for Jiaoqiu, as we’ve established above. On top of these two main priorities, you’ll want to keep an eye on Speed (target above 142) as well as Break Effect – the earlier Jiaoqiu can get started applying those Ashen Roast stacks, the better. While most of his DoT will be based on his Attack (everything coming from Ashen Roast), Fire DoT inflicted by Weakness Break will still be calculated based on his Break Effect, hence it’s nice to stack some of that. You can replace Break Effect with Effect Resistance to play it a bit more safe as well.

You’ll want to have slightly different Relic Sets for Jiaoqiu depending on whether you’re using him on a DoT team or as a source of debuffs for Acheron – we’ve marked the constellations below in accordance with that.

Best Relic Sets for Jiaoqiu in HSR:

  • [DoT] Musketeer of Wild Wheat (2) / Prisoner in Deep Confinement (2) / Firmament Frontline: Glamoth (2) + Messenger Traversing Hackerspace (2)  – +12% Attack and +6% Speed.
  • [Acheron] Pioneer Diver of Dead Waters (2) + Messenger Traversing Hackerspace (2)  – +12% damage against enemies affected by debuffs and +6% Speed.
  • [DoT] Prisoner in Deep Confinement (4) – +12% Attack, wearer’s attacks will ignore 6% of enemy’s Defense for every DoT the target is suffering from, counting up to three DoTs.

Best Planar Ornaments for Jiaoqiu in HSR:

  • [DoT] Pan-Cosmic Commercial Enterprise (2) – +10% Effect Hit Rate, up to 25% of the wearer’s Effect Hit Rate are added to Attack.
  • [Acheron] Sprightly Vonwacq (2) – +5% Energy Regeneration Rate; wearer’s action is advanced forward by 40% at the start of combat when Speed is 120 or higher.

Prioritize the following Relic and Planar Ornament stats for Jiaoqiu in HSR:

  • Head – HP (Primary), Attack %, Effect Hit Rate %, Speed, Break Effect %
  • Hands – Attack (Primary), Attack %, Effect Hit Rate %, Speed, Break Effect %
  • Body – Effect Hit Rate % (Primary), Attack %, Speed, Break Effect %, Effect Resistance %
  • Feet – Speed (Primary), Effect Hit Rate %, Attack %, Break Effect %, Effect Resistance %
  • Planar Sphere – Fire Damage % or Attack % (Primary), Effect Hit Rate %, Speed, Break Effect %, Attack % or Effect Resistance %
  • Link Rope – Energy Regeneration Rate % (Primary), Attack %, Effect Hit Rate %, Speed, Break Effect %

Honkai: Star Rail – Jiaoqiu: best teams

Jiaoqiu is an excellent addition to your DoT and Acheron teams, making him a valuable pick-up if you feel like you’re still missing a piece to make the most of these playstyles.

  • Kafka (Main DPS), Black Swan (Support), Jiaoqiu (Support), Huohuo (Support)

Jiaoqiu is a nice upgrade from Guinaifen for the well-established core of Kafka and Black Swan. The Stellaron Hunter and the Memokeeper will remain the team’s main engine, but Jiaoqiu adds valuable debuffs into the mix to increase the overall damage output. His own DoT benefits from Kafka and Black Swan’s various effects in turn to create some great all-around synergy. Use whichever sustain you have to complete the composition – we can easily recommend Huohuo for the job, though.

  • Acheron (Main DPS), Silver Wolf (Support), Jiaoqiu (Support), Aventurine (Support)

Jiaoqiu is a fantastic addition to your Acheron squad: His consistent DoT infliction contributes heavily to charging Acheron’s Ultimate and his debuffs further maximize the damage she deals – you’ll want to have immense Speed on Jiaoqiu for this team so that he can set the stage for the Main DPS. Aventurine is a great sustain for Acheron, since his Ultimate applies a debuff as well. Another debuffer like Silver Wolf, Pela, or Guinaifen complete the team.

Destiny 2: How to Complete Encounter Challenge Feats in the Desert Perpetual Raid

The Desert Perpetual raid in Destiny 2 has a new system called feats. Each feat requires players to complete the raid in different ways. One of the feats is the encounter challenges. Unlike in previous raids, completing encounter challenges does not reward players with a bonus chest. However, players must complete them to increase the tier of loot they get from the raid and to get the Atemporal title. Destiny 2 Desert Perpetual Feats Feats become active for players once they complete the Desert Perpetual raid once. Before you launch the raid, you can customize the feats added for your raid instance. These feats are: Token Limit – Fewer rez tokens available Encounter Challenges – Enables encounter challenges. Battalions – Banes added to the raid. Phase Limit – Requires you to kill each boss in two phases. Cutthroat combat – Enables Contest Mode difficulty. You can enable all feats at the same time for additional challenge, but we recommend holding off until you are comfortable with the raid. The Desert Perpetual Agraios Inherent – Hobgoblin The challenge requires all six players to pick up a chronon before someone can get their second one. The order does not matter, so long as each player picks one up. The challenge continues throughout the encounter, so before a player can get their third chronon, all players must have their second one. The two buffed, non-aligned players should pick up a chronon and deposit it after damage is done. You will need to shift which players get buffs per phase. Reminder that five Minatours spawn per Hydra kill. Here is the way we recommend for you to complete the challenge. First Pickup Phase Five players pick up and deposit to charge the portals. The sixth player picks up and deposits for the alignment phase. Second Pickup Phase Other runners and buffed players pick up. Sixth player picks up 2nd. The three runners deposit at the other three portals. Aligned player picks up 2nd. Third Pickup Phase Buffed players deposit to charge the portals. Three non-buffed players pick up 3rd. Only two players deposit. Previously buffed players pick up 3rd. Fourth Pickup Phase Previously buffed players become runners and deposit for the alignment phase. The other four players pick up their 4th. One non-buffed player deposits at the final portal. Fifth Pickup Phase Aligned player and four others deposit to charge the portals. Aligned player picks up 5th. The other five players pick up. Runners deposit to charge three portals. Sixth Pickup One runner picks up 6th and deposits at the final portal. The Desert Perpetual Iatrox, Inward Turned – Wyvern The challenge for the Wyvern encounter is far easier. During the building phase, there are three vex nodes you must activate. Usually, only one player activates all three nodes. For the challenge, you need three players to climb. Each player must activate one vex node. At the start of building, all three players stand on the plate for the buff. You will need to ascend together. Once a player has activated a node, they can jump off the platforms. Who does, which one, is entirely up to your team. The Desert Perpetual Epoptes, Lord of Quanta – Hydra For the Hydra encounter, four players are tasked with shooting eyes in each room. Your previous ad clearing role becomes a second shooter per room. In each room, players must alternate shooting eyes on the Hydra’s shield. It does not matter which player calls the eyes; just ensure you know who is calling what. The triangle and center eyes do not count for this. An example: Players one and two head to the left room after collecting the buff, while players three and four do the same on the right side. Left room calls top right, player three shoots top right. Right room calls top, player one shoots top. Left room calls bottom, player four shoots bottom. Right room calls bottom right, player two shoots bottom right. Repeat until all eyes are broken. The Desert Perpetual Koregos, The Wordline – Harpy For the final boss encounter challenge, every player must deposit one chronon through the hoop. It means players must shift across roles to complete this challenge. How you end up shifting does not matter. As long as each player has the cyclical buff once and deposits a chronon, you are fine. You must repeat this process for every phase. An important note: when you change buffs, your timer remains the same. Otherwise, you have plenty of time in this encounter to swap everyone.

Milwaukee Brewers: Nestor Cortes Gone, Standout Rookie 3B Has Emerged as Gem from Would-Be Lose-Lose Trade

Starting pitcher Nestor Cortes was the centerpiece of the Milwaukee Brewers‘ return haul from trading co-closer Devin Williams to the Yankees last December. Eight months later, Cortes is a member of the Padres, logging all of two starts in Milwaukee before injuries sapped his season. Over in New York, Williams lost his closer’s job, got it back, and has had one good month en route to a 5.04 ERA. Without the other part of Milwaukee’s incoming package, then minor-league third baseman Caleb Durbin, the trade would look at this juncture like a lose-lose scenario. Thanks to Durbin, it’s been anything but for the Brewers. Caleb Durbin is Milwaukee Brewers’ diamond in the rough Durbin didn’t make the spring training cut. Instead, the Brewers went with fellow rookie Oliver Dunn as the team’s starting third baseman. Durbin went down to Triple-A Nashville. Dunn didn’t last. After he struggled through the first three weeks of the season, he and Durbin switched places and the latter hasn’t squandered his shot. Following a slow start, he’s turned up the heat at the dish while playing outstanding defense. He’s had an OPS around .800 for over two months now and has his season slashline up to .263/.344/.372. His 2.2 WAR in 86 games played is tied for 10th among all third basemen, making him one of the position’s more valuable players. The Brewers saw plenty of promise in Durbin when they traded for him, coming off a strong season with New York’s Triple-A affiliate. Even though he didn’t, he was a decent candidate to make the team out of spring. The team likely didn’t see a legitimate Rookie of the Year candidate, which he is. By WAR, he and Braves catcher Drake Baldwin have contributed the same value to their teams, more than any other NL rookies. Cortes, on the other hand, was supposed to be a consistent cog in the rotation. Last year for the Yankees, he made 30 starts and recorded a 3.77 ERA. Instead, he’s still making his way back from injury ahead of start number three this season. In San Diego. Of course, Milwaukee did turn him into outfielder Brandon Lockridge, who will provide depth while Jackson Chourio is hurt. To dump Cortes’ salary, however, they had to attach a prospect, infielder Jorge Quintana. Neither Cortes nor Williams has been what the receiving team hoped. Both will be free agents this offseason. Only the Yankees, however, are at risk of walking away empty-handed. With years of team control remaining, the Brewers have in Durbin what looks to be their third baseman of both the present and future. The trade didn’t deliver according to expectations, but it’s hard to be too upset with the results.

Al Horford to Warriors Receives Update After Jonathan Kuminga News

The Golden State Warriors’ offseason has been dominated by the unresolved standoff with forward Jonathan Kuminga. After a 2024-25 season where he averaged 15.3 points per game, Kuminga declined the team’s two-year, $45 million offer, citing issues with the second-year team option and the lack of a no-trade clause. Kuminga has also drawn interest from other teams—most notably the Sacramento Kings and Phoenix Suns—but Golden State has shut down all trade discussions, according to ESPN's Shams Charania. The franchise has instead chosen to wait, leaving major offseason decisions on hold, including the potential signing of veteran big man Al Horford, who remains a free agent. Kuminga Set to Stay With the Golden State Warriors With the Warriors determined to stand their ground on the Kuminga saga, and the 6-foot-7 forward yet to accept their terms or the $7.9 million qualifying offer, all signs point to one likely scenario – Kuminga remaining a Warrior for at least one more season. According to Tim Kawakami of the San Francisco Standard, Golden State has no plans to trade Kuminga for the bare minimum this summer. He is expected to return to the Warriors’ roster—either by signing their current offer or accepting the qualifying offer. “The word I got when I checked in with a Warriors source on Sunday: Kuminga won't be traded this summer,” Kawakami wrote. “He'll be back on the Warriors' roster to start the season. And it'll either come when he signs the Warriors' offer or accepts the $7.9 million one-year qualifying offer.” The Warriors refusing to budge on their Kuminga stance means they will maintain the flexibility needed to make other moves that have been on hold — like the signing of Boston Celtics free agent Al Horford. What the New Jonathan Kuminga Report Means for Al Horford As it stands, it appears that the Warriors’ signing of Horford could be happening sooner than later. ESPN’s Anthony Slater noted towards the end of last month that Golden State identified Horford as its main target for a stretch-shooting center since the start of the offseason. However, his decision was believed to hinge on how the Kuminga situation played out. ESPN’s Marc Spears also recently noted that even players like Gary Payton II are waiting to see what Kuminga decides, further illustrating how his contract saga is impacting the entire roster. “I saw Gary Payton II two days ago. I'm like, what's going on? He's like waiting on [Jonathan Kuminga]. He is, Al Horford is.” With Kuminga presumably set to return next season, and seemingly under the Warriors' financial terms, the team will retain cap flexibility and avoid losing a core piece for nothing. It also positions them to move quickly on Horford or similar targets to solidify their frontcourt. If Kuminga opts for the qualifying offer, Golden State keeps his rights but risks future complications with trade leverage. Either way, the outcome of this standoff will likely shape how the Warriors enter training camp—and whether they can maximize what may be the final competitive window of the Stephen Curry era.

Pittsburgh Steelers Stock Watch: Rookie UDFA is on pace to skyrocket up the WR depth chart through two weeks of training camp

The Steelers have managed to get through the dog days of training camp. With the first two weeks in the rearview, it's finally game week for the Steelers in 2025. But before we look ahead to the first exhibition of the season, let's take note of whose stock is rising on the Steelers' roster... Riser No. 1: Rookie UDFA WR Roc Taylor Roc Taylor has been one of the more consistent WRs throughout the entire unit. Honestly, between up and down days from Roman Wilson, and the injury to WR Calvin Austin III, Pittsburgh's most consistent wide receiver not named DK Metcalf, has been Roc Taylor. If there ever was a year where a UDFA WR makes the Steelers roster, it's 2025. There is a virtual unknown beyond CAIII and DK Metcalf. If Taylor's strong camp carries over to "in stadium" performances, as Mike Tomlin would call them in the preseason, he might be a shoe-in for the final 53. Riser No. 2: RB Jaylen Warren Jaylen Warren is clearly the incumbent at RB, but there has been, and still might be, a real shot that rookie Kaleb Johnson pushed him for that role. However, the rookie was indoctrinated to the Steelers' padded practice in camp last week. After losing his Backs on Backers reps to Malik Harrison, he fumbled the ball in a team period via a punch-out from DeShon Elliott. No fumbles alone will keep Warren as the clear starter, but when you add on that he was excellent in pass protection, it's clear that the vet has the leg up. Riser No. 3: TE Jonnu Smith After a slow start to camp with a day-to-day injury, the pads came on, and so did Jonnu Smith's game. He was dominant in one-on-ones, and he's made his fair share of plays in team settings despite running with the twos in 11 personnel or when only one tight end is on the field. The more weapons, the better. With Metcalf and Freiermuth solidified as the top two pass catchers, inserting Jonnu Smith into a flex role where he can be the tight end number two in 12 personnel or a slot WR in 11 personnel will get this offense going where it needs to be.
