Death Head Possession is a new feature that was added in Repo during its Monsters Update this past October. Repo is the new Letal Company-like game that was released earlier in the year and has generated a huge following, given its unique interactivities throughout the game, and the hilarious viral moments caught on streams that seem scripted but literally aren’t. A huge patch that came with the Monsters Update was the Death Head Possession mechanic. So what is it?

Death Head Possession Feature

I am confident that the Death Head Possession mechanic was added for pure comedic factor. Anyone who’s seen or played the game knows that when you die in this game, your body explodes, leaving behind a head in the aftermath. It’s morbidly hilarious. Now the devs at Semiwork have worked extremely hard to give us the Death Head Possession feature, which will allow players to communicate with teammates who are still alive after their own death.

Your head now contains a battery that allows you to talk to players. What for? Well, there are many uses. You can let your teammates know where your head is located if you died in a secluded area, or you can let your teammates know where loot and enemies are. Now this is the responsible function of this mechanic. But we don’t play Repo to be responsible. As evidenced by people playing the new update, players use this function to mess with their teammates or somehow get them killed. So, how does this mechanic work?

Death Head Possession works the same as using the proximity chat feature. When you press E, your head will glow, causing you to be able to speak momentarily. This doesn’t last long, and you have a limited charge on the possession. You will be able to tell how much battery life you have left because it will directly correlate to the eyes on the semibot icon on your screen. However, the game does offer upgrades to the battery life of the possession at the shop.

Repo Monsters Update

The Repo Monsters update was one of the bigger updates to the game. It added 10 new monsters, hundreds of new items, expanded current map spawns, and added different and new mechanics to the game to make it much more fun. Players are having a blast uncovering all these updates and I know I’m excited to see what else Semiwork has in store for the game.
