How to Get Mega Scrafty in Pokémon Legends: Z-A

Step 1: Evolve Scraggy into Scrafty

Before you can unlock its Mega Evolution, you first need a Scrafty. The journey begins with its pre-evolution, Scraggy. Once you have a Scraggy on your team, the evolution process is straightforward and based on leveling.

Simply train your Scraggy until it reaches Level 39. Upon hitting this level, it will evolve into Scrafty. There are no special items or conditions required for this evolution, so focus on battling and gaining experience to prepare your Pokémon for its powerful final form.

Step 2: Obtain the Scraftinite Mega Stone

With your Scrafty ready, the next crucial step is to acquire its Mega Stone, the Scraftinite. This item becomes available later in the game. You can purchase the Scraftinite from the Quasartico Inc. headquarters at the Mega Shard Exchange.

The Scraftinite becomes available for purchase once you begin Main Mission 31. To buy it, you will need to exchange 240 Mega Shards. These valuable shards can be collected by finding and destroying the pink crystal clusters that are scattered all around Lumiose City. To break them, simply send out one of your Pokémon and use a damaging move on the crystal. Keep exploring the city and gathering shards to ensure you have enough to secure the Scraftinite.

Step 3: Using Mega Evolution with Scrafty

Once you have purchased the Scraftinite, the final step is to give it to your Scrafty to hold. With the Mega Stone equipped, you will unlock the ability to Mega Evolve Scrafty during battles.

When you activate Mega Evolution in a fight, your Scrafty will transform into Mega Scrafty, gaining a new look and a significant boost to its stats, particularly its Defense and Special Defense. This transformation turns Scrafty into a resilient tank capable of absorbing hits while dishing out powerful attacks, making it a valuable asset for the toughest challenges in Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
