Infinity Nikki tips and tricks we wish we knew before starting
Infinity Nikki Infold Games

Infinity Nikki is out now on PC, PS5, Android, and iOS, and millions of players from all around the world are jumping into the fashion-forward open-world adventure game. We’ve spent quite a bit of time with the game ourselves, and as you’ll read in our Infinity Nikki review, it’s pretty good — if a bit light on substance in some areas.

Having spent some time in the world of Infinity Nikki, we’ve come away with a lot of thoughts and stumbled our way into plenty of discoveries. That’s why we’ve put together this list of tips and tricks for Infinity Nikki that we wish we’d known going in.

Check your Pear-Pal

Infold Games

After visiting the Stylist’s Guild you’ll get given a Pear-Pal, and it’s in your best interest to check it out frequently. Not only are the Mail and Event pages in this menu – where developer InFold is frequently giving a bunch of free stuff – there’s a host of other sub-menus to explore, all of which can give you extra resources. If there’s a red dot on an app in the Pear-Pal, make sure you go in and check it out, because chances are you’re about to get some goodies.

Do your dailies

Infold Games

Speaking of goodies, make sure you’re doing your Daily Wishes each and every day. These are relatively simple tasks, like participating in a minigame, expending energy, purifying enemies, and taking photos, so they should only take you a few minutes to knock out. Completing Daily Wishes gives you experience and rewards, so you should make a habit of doing them every time you log in.

Progress through the story a bit before exploring

Infold/GLHF

The world of Infinity Nikki is large and fascinating, but despite the allure of the wilds, you should probably hold off a bit from exploring. You’ll go to many of the places you can find on the map just by following the story, but more importantly, you’ll unlock ability outfits that can help you gather more resources, participate in minigames, and tick off dailies. We’d suggest at least progressing through the story until you unlock the camera before venturing out into the world, as you’ll have most of the resources you need by that point to complete almost all of the Daily Wishes you’ll come across.

Explore a bunch

Infold/GLHF

Of course, once you’re through that first part of the story, you should explore as much as you can. There are plenty of Whimstars to gather out there in the world, heaps of resources you’ll need for outfit crafting, and a bunch of minigames and challenges. Almost everything you find in the world is helpful in one way or another, and you’ll often find random quests out in the world just while you’re exploring.

Groom everything

Infold/GLHF

The animal grooming outfit is unlocked fairly early in the story, and it’s by far the most useful ability outfit in the game. With it, you can walk up to just about any animal and start grooming it. Not only do you get a cute animation, but you’ll also get some of its fur — fur which can be used to craft outfits and items of clothing. You’ll need a lot of fur, and a wide variety of it, so you should groom absolutely everything you see. A cat, a dog, a raccoon, a squirrel, a bird, a swan in a lake that you have to wait 15 minutes for it to go on land, all of them are worth grooming, and you should do so whenever you see them.

Upgrade your outfits

Infold Games

Full outfits – the complete sets with fancy animations once you get all the pieces – have a secret: they can be upgraded and changed. To do so, you’ll want to open up the Pear-Pal and enter the Evolution menu, then select the dress you want to upgrade. You’ll need some resources, but spending it here and upgrading a dress gives you an alternate color scheme for those clothes. This can include new hair colors, too, and while these new alternate color schemes don’t offer more points than their original counterparts, having a wider variety of clothes to choose from is kind of the whole point of the game, so don’t sleep on it.

Listen to Momo

Infold

While you’re out exploring the world, Momo will occasionally tell you that there’s a Whimstar around. You should listen to him and open up Momo’s view, then tag a nearby Whimstar to find and follow it. Whimstars let you upgrade new nodes on the Heart of Infinity, giving you access to new clothing, abilities, and sketches, and it’s not always clear what will give you a Whimstar — in fact some are very well hidden. Momo will always point you in the right direction, so heed his word.

Buy clothing when you can

Infold Games

Florawish is home to a store called Marques Boutique, and it will sell you clothing. You should absolutely buy everything at Marques Boutique — in fact you should buy clothing whenever you get the opportunity to do so. It will always come in handy.

Play games, win prizes

Infold/GLHF

Scattered throughout the world of Infinity Nikki are a number of minigames and board games, and it’s definitely in your best interest to participate in them when you get the chance. Not only are they fun, they also offer some pretty decent rewards, including Bling and Diamonds.

Tyrann Mathieu retirement highlights compelling Hall of Fame case

One question remains after New Orleans Saints safety Tyrann Mathieu announced his retirement. How long until Canton calls? On Tuesday, the 12-year NFL veteran revealed he was retiring, effective immediately, ending the New Orleans native's legendary football career. In a statement published to social media, the three-time first-team All-Pro wrote, "As I hang up my cleats, I'm filled with gratitude as I close this chapter of my life and officially retire from the game that's shaped me in every way. "From my first snap in college to my final play in the NFL, this journey has been nothing short of a blessing." He's a surefire first-ballot Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame honoree, breaking out while at LSU (2010-11). During his freshman and sophomore seasons, he forced 11 fumbles with eight recoveries, four interceptions and four total touchdowns while finishing fifth in Heisman voting in 2011. Mathieu was dismissed from the team in 2012 after failing multiple drug tests and then was arrested on marijuana charges, but he didn't allow that to define his career. Instead, he carved out what could be considered a Pro Football Hall of Fame resume, too. Mathieu ends his professional career with 838 tackles, 100 passes defended and 36 interceptions. In addition to being named first-team All-Pro three times, he received three Pro Bowl honors and was a member of the Hall of Fame All-2010 Team. Mathieu also won a Super Bowl with the Kansas City Chiefs in February 2020. Per Mathieu's Pro Football Reference's Hall of Fame Monitor score (65.2), he has a below-average case for enshrinement, with the average Hall of Fame defensive back scoring a 96.93. But players have received a gold jacket with worse scores in the PFR metric, including John Lynch, Eric Allen and Dick LeBeau. While he might have to wait past his first ballot to make it into the Hall of Fame, it would be a shame if Mathieu didn't one day receive his flowers. It certainly helps his case that in addition to being one of the greatest safeties of his generation, Mathieu was, by all accounts, just as outstanding off the field. NewOrleans.Football's Nick Underhill and Arizona Cardinals insider Kyle Odegard, who covered Mathieu when he played for the Cardinals, were among the media members to share fond stories about Mathieu. "One of those guys who really respected the job we do and would take the time to explain the game," Underhill shared. "He an all-world talent and the most accessible, genuine, introspective superstar I've ever met," Odegard wrote. It could take longer than five years, but it should surprise no one if one day Mathieu receives Hall of Fame recognition. He is the Honey Badger, after all. He takes what he wants.

The Phillies need to replace this struggling bat at the deadline

Another year, another shot at a championship. Since their last World Series appearance in 2022, a match in which they lost, the Philadelphia Phillies have slid backwards, falling in the NLCS in 2023 and the NLDS in 2024. This year, the Phillies are back on top of the NL East, holding a slim half-game lead over the New York Mets entering Tuesday. Still, their season has been far from spotless. The Phillies have gone through immeasurable difficulties from the bullpen without Jeff Hoffman (signed with Blue Jays), Carlos Estevez (signed with Royals) or Jose Alvarado (PED suspension), especially with Jordan Romano’s descent into the dumpster fire. But with new free-agent signing David Robertson in tow, we can expect some degree of stability from the relief corps going forward — though, not to insinuate that team president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski is done adding bullpen arms. Another sore spot that received plenty of attention the past few months is in the outfield, left field in particular. Among all qualifying left fielders, Max Kepler maintains the second lowest OPS. Much has been made about potentially replacing him, but as bad as he’s been, there is one Philadelphia infielder that has done even worse. Once a promising bat, second baseman Bryson Stott seems to be reaching rock bottom. Below, you can his stats in comparison to that of Kepler’s: (wRC+: weighted runs created plus represents the culmination of a hitter’s offensive achievements where a value of 100 is MLB’s average) Stott has been more proficient than Kepler at recording hits, but Kepler’s power and higher walk rate gives him the edge in overall offensive stats. It was only in 2023, his second year of MLB action, when Stott hit .280/.329/.414 with 15 home runs. Unfortunately, Stott’s productivity began to slide last season. This year, his slump halted in April when he hit .314 on the month, but it quickly resumed in May (.216), worsened in June (.202) and has reached a fever-pitch in July (.132). If the Phillies are going to claw their way back to the Fall Classic, it may be better if Stott’s bat isn’t in the lineup.

Red Sox pitcher sounds off on disgruntled sports bettors

Lucas Giolito is tired of hearing from angry sports bettors, and the Boston Red Sox pitcher says he recently spoke with MLB commissioner Rob Manfred about his concerns. During an episode of Rob Bradford's "Baseball Isn't Boring" podcast that was released on Monday, Giolito spoke about what he described as a growing problem with angry gamblers issuing threats to players. The right-hander said he has received countless messages from fans who placed wagers on him and lost, even when he pitches well. "I'm getting messages after every game," Giolito said, via Jon Paul Hoornstra of Newsweek. "Even games where I pitched well, where they're mad at me because I hit the strikeout over instead of being under; prop bets, all these crazy things. People put hundreds of dollars on it. They don't have a lot of money but they're gambling it anyway because it's a disease. They freak out." Giolito added that there is only so much players can do in terms of blocking and reporting people on social media. He said his girlfriend has even received "nasty" messages from fans and that he asked Manfred what would need to happen for MLB to take serious action. "You can go private on social media. You can block accounts. It only goes so far. One thing I said to Rob was, 'Is it gonna take a player getting assaulted in front of their apartment building by some disgruntled that lost a bet for real action to be taken?'" Giolito said. As sports betting has been legalized across more states, the number of fans wagering has rapidly grown. Giolito alluded to prop bets such as over/unders on strikeouts, which are popular among casual gamblers. Giolito certainly is not the first professional athlete to raise concerns about disgruntled bettors. Scottie Scheffler recently revealed a change he had to make because of the actions of those who placed bets on him. As for what Manfred, MLB or any other sports organization can do about it, that remains to be seen.

Marcus Smart signing could spell disaster for LeBron James, Lakers

Marcus Smart signing could spell disaster for LeBron James, Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers brought in some toughness and defensive versatility with the addition of Marcus Smart. However, they're now going to have to play financial Jenga. As reported by Bryan Toporek of Silver Screen and Roll, they won't have a lot of money to make any more moves. "After waiving (Shake) Milton and (Jordan) Goodwin and signing Smart, the Lakers now sit $1.1 million below the first apron. Since they’re hard-capped, they cannot cross the first apron under any circumstance between now and June 30, 2026," Toporek wrote. As a result, the Lakers' best hope for help will come once the buyout market starts to take shape. "Since they’re only $1.1 million under the first apron, they currently don’t have enough room below the hard cap to sign anyone to even a veteran-minimum contract. They’d have to shed salary in a trade before they can make another free-agent signing," he added. That's not necessarily what LeBron James might want to hear. His agent, Rich Paul, claimed that he wanted to pursue another championship and that they would assess the team's roster to determine his future. This team got marginally better, but it still needs to add a defensive-minded big man, since JJ Redick didn't seem to trust Jaxson Hayes in the playoffs last season. The Western Conference is as stacked as it's ever been, and it will take more than what the Lakers have to keep up with other powerhouses. So, unless Rob Pelinka works his magic with another shocking trade, James will have to weigh all of his options.
