Dplus defeated Nongshim 3-0 and advanced to the LCK Playoffs. Their celebrations were cut short after they learned that they will face T1 in the first round. As far as records go, T1 were the second-best team in the Legend Group in Rounds 3-5, only behind the MSI Champions, GenG. DK has a monumental task in front of them to advance to the second round of the Playoffs.
The first match of the LCK playoffs begins at 1:00 AM PT (10:00 AM CET). Has DK leveled up in the past couple of days?
T1 and DK have faced off three times in 2025. The first meeting during the LCK Cup went to DK, with them winning 2-1. The other two series during the regular season were won by T1, 2-1 and 2-0, respectively.
During Rounds 3-5, T1 only lost three series while losing eight games. GenG and KT Rolster were the only teams to defeat T1, with GenG winning twice. DK is coming off a shaky Play-Ins stage. They began the stage, losing 3-2 to BFX, but stabilized with a 3-1 victory over BRO and dismantled NS 3-0. However, the same issues that originated from the Rise Group remain.
T1 has not played a series since their loss to GenG on August 30th. Their form dropped in the last two weeks. The loss to KT might be a concern. However, they responded with a victory over Hanwha Life and took a game off GenG. A drop in T1’s form is still better than most teams in the LCK. The break would have had to drop T1’s form even further for Dplus to stand a chance in this series.
Keria is a vital part of T1’s success. His flair and dominance on champions like Bard, Renata Glasc, and Rakan make him a fearsome foe. The first place that DK must deal with Keria is in the draft, but can you ban out his champion pool? The answer is likely no if you do not want the other T1 players to get ideal champions. Keria’s playstyle places a chokehold on teams that only the best have been able to beat in recent months. DK has struggled to be cohesive in their gameplay, something that Keria and T1 will not hesitate to punish in a heartbeat.
T1 3-0 DK
Few have stood up to T1 in recent months. Unless their form has dropped significantly and DK has had a miraculous improvement in two days, they stand no chance. The series could be over quickly. We have seen what happens when DK faces an aggressive team. They crumbled against BFX on numerous occasions. T1 will bring a similar level of aggression. The difference between T1 and BFX is that T1 brings a more tempered aggression while playing the map better.
The winner of the series will advance to Round 2 of the LCK Playoffs. They will either face GenG or Hanwha Life, based on GenG’s selection. The loser is not knocked out. They move down to the lower bracket. Their opponent will be the loser of KT versus BFX.
