LCK 2025: KT Challenges an Impenetrable Foe

One team had to bite the bullet and face GenG in Round 2 of the LCK Playoffs. KT Rolster must suffer that fate. They must become the second team to defeat GenG since their loss to Hanwha Life in the LCK Cup Final. The series has implications for which teams qualify for the World Championship. If GenG wins, both T1 and HLE qualify for the international event.

GenG have met KT five times in the LCK in 2025. GenG won all of those series, only dropping one game.

In the past 39 series GenG has played, GenG is 38-1. That loss came against T1 during the LCK Rounds 3-5. They are the most dominant team in 2025. KT Rolster is coming off a 3-1 victory against BFX. Their form suggests they are performing at a similar level to how they were playing at the Road to MSI. But that might not be what they need to defeat GenG.

Can Cuzz and Bdd Challenge Canyon and Chovy?

One of the highlights of KT’s win against BFX was their Mid-Jungle. Cuzz and Bdd carried KT through their victory. Part of that was the lack of impact from VicLa and Raptor. However, they are going to have a sterner test against GenG. Canyon and Chovy are two of the best players in the world. They were both voted on the LCK first team, along with the rest of their team. Cuzz and Bdd will need to be at their best to have a chance of taking down GenG’s Mid-Jungle.

Will PerfecT Live GenG’s Tower Dives?

One of KT’s weaknesses has been the way PerfecT plays on the weak side. Teams have targeted him to garner leads for their team. GenG is the best team at overloading at side lanes. Teams have struggled to deal with their focus. GenG does so without giving any advantages to the enemy team on the opposite side of the map. PerfecT will need to be prepared for the target focus. He performed better in the series against BFX than in most of his games in Rounds 3-5.

KT Rolster Could Ruin Everyone’s Plans

T1 and HLE will be closely watching the series. If GenG are victorious in the series, that will qualify T1 and HLE for the World Championship. IF KT manages to win the series tomorrow, they will play spoiler to both teams while also qualifying for the World Championship. While GenG has qualified, winning against KT will give them a better seeding and ensure they avoid the Play-In match.
