The League of Legends LTA North 2026 Promotion Tournament is ongoing. Four teams are left to fight for a spot in the LCS in 2026. Disguised faced off against Estral Esports yesterday for a place in the Upper Bracket Final against Luminosity. DDOS attacks against the Riot servers plagued the series. Teams were subjected to long pauses. During one of the pauses, viewers noticed that one of Estral Esports’ players, Park “Summit” Woo-tae, was watching the stream of the match.

League of Legends Professional Player Summit Caught Cheating

As everyone waited for the resumption of the match between Disguised and Estral Esports, viewers noticed something awry. While on Jang “Ghost” Yong-jun’s camera, viewers could see that Summit had a stream open on his computer. After an investigation, they noticed that he was watching a specific team fight during their match against Disguised. Players are not allowed to do this as they can garner vital information that could give them an advantage. Due to the intense DDOS attacks, the match has been delayed. The series is set at 2-1 in favor of Disguised and will continue today at 1:00 PM PT (10:00 PM CET).

In the aftermath, Riot has provisionally suspended Summit, pending the outcome of the investigation. Riot has granted Estral the ability to utilize an emergency sub for the rest of the series against Disguised. Estral has appealed to reduce the severity of the punishment towards Summit, given that there was “bad faith” and Riot has not taken into account human error in their decision.

Ghost was also seen communicating via Discord, another rule break, as players are not allowed to contact the outside world. However, Ghost has not received punishment, and there is a possibility that he was in contact with an admin and thus not breaking the rules.

Community Reaction

Many took to social media, wanting action to be taken against Summit. Some called for game four to be forfeited, meaning Disguised would win the series 3-1 and advance to the next round. Many have noted that Summit did not intend any ill action by looking at the stream. However, given his veteran status, having played for numerous teams in his career, he should know better. There may not have been ill intent, which should be taken into consideration when looking at more severe punishment. However, he broke the rules and must be punished for his actions.
