Little Nightmares 3 is the next installment of the iconic game series. It will follow the two protagonists, Low and Alone, as they try to make their escape from a place called The Nowhere. Apart from a new set of characters and a new setting, this will be the first game that introduces co-op within the series. Here are all the details on co-op and what people are saying about the introduction of this new mechanic.

Little Nightmares 3 Introduces Co-Op

Little Nightmares 3 will be the first game in the series to introduce co-op to the game. Though you can play the game solo, the devs this time have worked the game around its co-opability to highlight the multiplayer aspect and teamwork between the two protagonists. The devs at Bandai Namco have gone all in on co-op, stating,

In order to allow the most people to play the game in co-op, we’ll include at launch a Friend’s Pass on the different platforms where it’s possible. Thanks to the Friend’s Pass, only one copy of the game is required to enjoy Little Nightmares III with a friend.

But what are people saying about this new feature in the series? Is it worth all the hype, or is it overrated and too complicated?

Is Co-O the Way? What Are Players Saying?

According to one player, they are actually pretty stoked about the new co-op feature being added to Little Nightmares 3. They say the game is a lot more immersive when playing with an actual person rather than an AI companion, especially when directing your partner and instructing them on where to go. They also mention how co-op makes the game experience a bit more scary as well, adding that “the fear of being alone is replaced by the dread of becoming separated”.

I did mention this in a different article, but some people actually do not enjoy the new co-op feature for this game, claiming it to be clunky and way more difficult than playing solo. I’ve yet to experience the different types of gameplay for the game; however, I am still excited for the release to drop next month. Little Nightmares 3 is set to release on October 10, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
