Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is Coming- And It’s Worth the Wait.

After nearly two decades of anticipation, Nintendo has officially announced the release of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, set to launch on December 4, 2025. This long-awaited sequel to Metroid Prime 3: Corruption (2007) will be available on both the Nintendo Switch and the upcoming Switch 2, promising a next-gen experience for fans of the franchise.

The development journey of Metroid Prime 4 has been anything but straightforward. Originally teased in 2017, the project was rebooted and handed back to Retro Studios, the team that was behind the original trilogy. That decision seems to have paid off, as early glimpses from the recent Nintendo Direct showcase stunning visuals, a darker tone, and a return to the atmospheric darker tone, and a return to the atmospheric exploration that made the series popular in the first place.

One of the most intriguing additions is Samus’s new ride: the Vi-O-La bike, a sleek, futuristic vehicle that adds a fresh layer to traversal and combat. While details on gameplay mechanics remain under wraps, fans are already speculating on how this new gear will reshape the Metroid universe.
