MSI 2025 Day 10 Preview: The Last Hope For the West

G2 Esports and Movistar KOI fell in the previous MSI round. That leaves the only Western team, FlyQuest, to carry the mantle. Their opponent today is Bilibili Gaming, who have looked shaky at MSI. FlyQ will need to be at their best to defeat the LPL second seed, even if they are not performing. Will the pressure of the last remaining Western team get to them?

MSI Day Ten Schedule

FlyQ and BLG will begin their battle at 5:00 pm PST (2:00 am CET, July 9th).

Mid Lane Kingdom

The one bright spark for BLG during MSI is their mid-laner, Knight. He was the only one who looked capable of standing up to T1 in their recent match. On the other end, Quad has had the weakest performance of all the FlyQ players. He has faced top-quality mid-laners in the form of Shanks and Caps, but he can not afford to be a weak point today. Knight will capitalize on any weakness that Quad shows. If Quad can keep his composure and stay even with the Chinese mid-laner, FlyQ will have an advantage in this series.

Predictions

Bilibili Gaming 2 – 3 FlyQuest

Heading into the tournament, BLG would have had the edge in this series. With the performances of both teams at MSI, FlyQ likely has the advantage. FlyQ and BLG are coming off the same scoreline series but with different results. FlyQ has the momentum after crushing G2. BLG made too many mistakes against T1, leading to their defeat. That momentum, coupled with better drafting from FlyQ, gives them the advantage in this series. The early game and Knight’s impact must be handled well by FlyQ; otherwise, they might become another Western disappointment.

How the Day Will Impact Proceedings

The loser of this series gets eliminated from MSI. The winner will progress to face Anyone’s Legend in the Lower Bracket Semi-Final. A win for BLG guarantees that the Eastern teams secure the top four at MSI. That will also mean that the LCK and LPL will have four teams qualify for the World Championship later this year. A win for FlyQ will increase their reputation and will be the first bo5 win for a North American team against the East since Team Liquid defeated Invictus Gaming at MSI 2019.
