MSI 2025 Day 9 Preview: CTBC Flying Oyster Striving for Legendary Staus

After a day’s break, we are back today with MSI action. The LCP representative, CTBC Flying Oyster, has made a good impression so far. They must continue that trend to be victorious in their next series. The LPL’s 1st seed, Anyone’s Legend, awaits them in an elimination series. Will AL get revenge for Top Esports, or will CFO become legends?

MSI Day 9 Schedule

All days on the MSI schedule from here on will begin at 5:00 pm PST (2:00 am CET). AL versus CFO is the only match today. European viewers will have a difficult time catching the matches live, but at least their teams are eliminated from MSI.

Jungle Difference

A key aspect of either team winning this series will be the junglers of each team. Tarzan and JunJia are vital to their teams’ success. JunJia has especially been able to secure leads for his laners, which allows him to translate that into a lead for himself. Tarzan is the driving force behind AL’s dominant team fighting. He often finds the angles necessary. He was instrumental in keeping the series with GenG Esports close against another terrifying jungler in Canyon. The jungler that emerges from this series with the most impact on their team will likely be the victor of the series.

Prediction

Anyone’s Legend 3 – 1 CTBC Flying Oyster

Today will be the end of the road for CFO at MSI. With the jungle matchup tightly contested, JunJia will struggle to get his lanes ahead. CFO is likely to be the weaker of the two teams without those leads. Both teams have similar playstyles and win conditions, but on an individual level, AL comes out ahead. CFO are unlikely to get a chance to breathe in this series with Tarzan and AL keeping them at bay. They may get a game in the series because of draft or early game impact from JunJia, but other than that, AL should walk away with the series victory.

How the Day Will Impact Proceedings

The loser of the series gets eliminated from MSI in the 5th-6th position. If AL is knocked out now, questions will emerge on the strength of the LPL as a region. A series victory for CFO will cause more stocks to go to the LCP. The winner of the series will await the victor of Bilibili Gaming and FlyQuest in the next round of MSI.
