New Disney Dreamlight Valley Expansion: Storybook Vale Part 2, The Unwritten Realms

In part 1 of The Storybook Vale expansion, we traveled to a new land where we welcomed Merida, Flynn, and Hades to our games. We heard a lot about Aurora (Sleeping Beauty) and we met Maleficent, but neither has joined us… yet. With the release of Storybook Vale part 2, The Unwritten Realms, both of them will finally join us, and there will be a lot more to do! We’re likely going to finish up the story and settle things down between Hades and Maleficent. Won’t that be nice?

On July 9, 2025, there will be an update to add part 2 of The Storybook Vale expansion. We’ll have more areas to explore, including what’s below Storybook Vale! There will likely be more puzzles, plenty of quests, and rewards that match the new characters and areas. We don’t know yet if there will be any new forageable items or ingredients.

How Should You Prepare?

If you haven’t completed the friendship quests with Merida, Flynn, and Hades, it would be a good idea to do that. Or, at least get as far as you can. Based on how things have gone in the past, you’ll probably need to level them up and complete at least some of their quest lines to unlock the new characters and quests.

It might also be a good idea to stock up on ingredients and foraged items from around Storybook Vale. We don’t know what may be required to complete quests in Storybook Vale part 2, and things go faster if you have a nice stockpile.

What Else is Coming to Disney Dreamlight Valley?

Before Storybook Vale Part 2 releases, the next big free update, Mysteries of Skull Rock, will arrive on June 18, 2025. With it, we’ll get to explore Skull Rock, meet Peter Pan, and start a new Star Path with seafaring and mermaid-themed rewards. There are updates to animal companions and more! Later in the year, we’ll be seeing updates that have been hinted at on the roadmap. It suggests updates themed around Inside Out, Beauty and the Beast, and Cinderella! They’ve mentioned another star path and another villager. We’ll keep you up-to-date with all of the latest news. So don’t forget to check back so you don’t miss a thing!
