Looking to bolster your roster in Genshin Impact? We’ve got the inside scoop on the current character and weapon banners, as well as what’s next in Phase 2 of Version 5.8. Yes, we’re talking about the stuff that might empty your Primogem stash… again.
Running until Tuesday, August 19, the current character event banners feature two big names. First on the list, we have Ineffa, a new 5-Star Electro polearm user whose abilities scream “zappy destruction.” She’s paired with Citlali, a returning 5-Star Cryo catalyst user that fans of wide AoE attacks will adore.
And those boosted 4-Star characters? Fischl (Electro), Sethos (Electro), and Xingqiu (Hydro). Honestly, if you’re still chasing Fischl constellations this far into the game… we’re not judging, we’ve all been there.
Now, the current weapon banner is likewise available until August 19, showcasing marquee weapons like Fractured Halo, Ineffa’s signature polearm, and Starcaller’s Watch, the must-have catalyst for Citlali fans.
If pulling weapons isn’t already stressful enough, throw in boosted 4-Star options like the Favonius Codex, Sacrificial Greatsword, and, of course, everyone’s favorite “dump-into-refinements” Mountain-Bracing Bolt.
With Phase 2 of Version 5.8 starting on August 19 and scheduled to end September 9 (depending on your server’s timezone), here are the headliners you’ll find bleeding your wallet of Intertwined Fates.
Phase 2 is all about reruns this time. First, we’re getting Mualani, a 5-Star Hydro catalyst-user whose skills bring some serious ocean-themed flair on the “Sharktacular Surfari” banner. Sharing the spotlight is Chasca, an Anemo bow-user you might remember from her earlier banners, returning with her “Piercing Shot’s Crimson Wake” showcase.
Boosted 4-Star options remain under wraps for now—but knowing HoYoverse’s affinity for surprises, expect old favorites or thematic ties to the headliners.
The next weapon banner is set to arrive alongside our returning pros, featuring Surf’s Up, Mualani’s Hydro-flavored catalyst, and Astral Vulture’s Crimson Plumage, a bow tailored exclusively for Chasca. Rumor has it, this banner might include a few spicy 4-Star additions to sweeten the deal, but stay tuned for official confirmation.
Whether you’re hard-pitying a weapon or spamming single pulls for that one missing 4-Star, these banners have something for everyone (or maybe just enough to completely ruin your Primogem budget). Don’t forget your daily commissions and make use of those free event Primogems. Need an excuse to pre-farm? Version 6.0 is just around the corner.
Good luck and may your pity system bless you with gold stars on your next banner Wish.
