- Super Mario Galaxy (Wii) screenshot: The game begins here

Fans are eagerly awaiting the sequel to The Super Mario Bros. Movie, but in the meantime, they might want to check out a new claymation Mario show. Nintendo has just announced that it will be putting out a series of claymation shorts starring the iconic plumber. While the shorts will be aimed at a younger audience, adult Nintendo fans are still bound to be curious.

The New Claymation Mario Show

According to ScreenRant, the “It’s Me, Mario” claymation shorts will debut on YouTube and Nintendo’s official My Mario website on August 26. The shorts will be part of Nintendo’s new My Mario line of merchandise, which will include other products such as a board book, a block set, and a smart device app. The product line is designed to introduce very young children to the world of Mario.

Could This Mean More Animated Mario Projects?

The sequel to The Super Mario Bros. Movie will be released on April 3, 2026, but the claymation Mario shorts could mean that some other animated Mario project for TV or YouTube could be coming sometime in the future. There are probably many fans who would watch a claymation Mario show in a longer form, and there are probably plenty of adult fans who will check out “It’s Me, Mario” out of sheer curiosity. Mario has already graced the small screen with The Super Mario Bros. Super Show and other cartoons from the eighties and nineties. There could be a market here.

Conclusion

The My Mario brand will let children get to know the iconic plumber from a very young age, and as a result, they might start playing the games sooner. Parents who are Nintendo fans will probably squeal at the chance to give their kids a Mario board book or block set. Even Nintendo fans without kids might find themselves peeking at the “It’s Me, Mario” shorts just to see how a claymation Mario show looks.
