‘Phasmophobia’ Celebrates 5th Anniversary

Phasmophobia is a multiplayer paranormal horror game by Kinetic Games, where you play as a ghost hunter investigating different haunted locations, guessing what kind of ghost is haunting that location. Since its release in early access back in 2020, Phasmophobia has become a viral hit, gaining a huge fanbase and spawning other Phasmophobia-like games. Even though the game is still in early access, with a planned release sometime next year, Phasmophobia is celebrating its 5th anniversary this month. Phasmophobia 5th Anniversary Rewards

Phasmophobia is celebrating its 5th anniversary, and the devs have a treat for gamers who’ve supported the game since its inception. The new update v0.14.1.0 dropped yesterday, and the devs announced on the Kinetic Games website, “Today, we have deployed a small update to Phasmophobia that brings with it our 5th Anniversary celebration in-game. For details on what we have planned to mark this moment, head to our recent blog post.” 

The patch notes include:

• An updated lobby cosmetic to celebrate the 5th anniversary.
• Login rewards from the 15th to the 21st of September.
• And an anniversary bonus, where players will earn double XP and in-game cash, during the anniversary week.

Watch Out For The Twitch Drops

According to the Kinetic Games website, changes will be made concerning Twitch. These changes include:

• The Twitch Drops pop-up now displays the username of the connected Twitch account, making it easier to confirm that the player’s account is linked correctly.
• And there is now a Disconnect button to unlink Twitch accounts for added convenience.

Phasmophobia has become an icon in the horror genre, and the full release of the game is finally planned for next year. It’s been out in early access for 5 years now, and devs and players are celebrating its 5th anniversary this month.
