Genetic Apex is the first set of cards in Pokémon TCG Pocket, but each booster set has a collection of exclusive cards. Whether you want to open Charizard, Mewtwo or Pikachu packs will depend on which cards you’re missing or which decks you want to build, but some are certainly stronger than others. If you want to know which cards are available in each pack, and which packs have the best cards, then we have everything you need to know about TCG Pocket booster packs.
*Italicized cards also have a full-art version, which is available in the same booster as the base card.
Charizard booster packs can contain 59 different types of cards, which include 5 EX cards, and 19 full-art cards, many of which are different versions of the same card.
The key EX card of this deck is Starmie EX, which takes just two turns to set up and has no retreat cost. Charizard EX with Moltres EX is also A-tier – as you can see in our meta deck tier list – but we rank it slightly lower as it can take a long time to set up, and uses a three-stage Pokémon as your main attacker.
Full-art and EX cards aside, there are a number of more common cards which can be quite helpful. The best is Sabrina, which is one of the best cards in TCG Pocket, thanks to the ability to switch your opponent’s active Pokémon. If you are running a Venusaur EX deck, you’ll also want a few Erika cards to heal. Meowth is the best basic Pokémon here with its ability to draw an extra card per turn.
If you’re looking for a specific card – perhaps you’re working towards the free Mew card – then here is everything available in the Charizard booster packs:
Mewtwo booster packs can contain 60 different types of cards, which include 5 EX cards, and 18 full-art cards, many of which are different versions of the same card.
The star of this booster is obviously the Mewtwo EX, which is dominating TCG Pocket online PvP battles. When paired with Gardevoir, this deck is an unstoppable combo. Overall, the Mewtwo booster has the best EX cards, with both Articuno EX and Venusaur EX working as the base for strong meta decks. Even Marowak EX can be very powerful if you’re lucky enough.
Giovanni is the second-best trainer card behind Sabrina, as it can help you secure the knockout on your opponent. This booster also contains Pidgeot, which is one of the strongest non-EX cards as it allows you to switch out your opponent’s active Pokémon with no energy, and while Pidgeot is on the bench. Weezing can also be strong with Arbok for poison control decks, and Dragonite is another strong non-EX deck option, if you don’t mind the frustrations of running mixed energy.
The Mewtwo EX cards alone make Mewtwo the best booster packs to open, particularly if you need strong cards to build your deck around.
Here is every card available in Mewtwo booster packs:
Pikachu booster packs can contain 60 different types of cards, which include 5 EX cards, and 19 full-art cards, many of which are different versions of the same card.
The star of this booster is Pikachu EX, the other deck that’s dominating the meta right now. It can be paired with Zapdos EX, but it can also work all by itself. The other EX cards in this set are a little weak, but Blastoise EX can work if you get lucky enough with Misty.
Speaking of this gym leader, you’ll find her in this booster set, and she’s necessary for any Water-type decks. Every other card in the Pikachu booster is pretty situational, like Magneton can be strong, but only paired with Raichu and Lt. Surge.
Here are all the cards you can find in the Pikachu booster packs:
There are 44 cards that you can find in any pack, though it should be noted that the full-art versions of most cards are locked to certain packs. The exception to this is the crown rarity gold full- art versions of Mewtwo EX, Charizard EX, and Pikachu EX, which can surprisingly be found in any pack.
*Crown rarity gold Charizard/Mewtwo/Pikachu EX cards can appear in any pack\

Alright, here’s the deal, Demonschool is coming my fellow JRPG fans. While the Nintendo Indie World Showcase had its fair share of charming pixel art games and quirky puzzlers, it somehow completely missed one of the most exciting upcoming releases. That’s right, I’m talking about Demonschool. This Persona-inspired tactics RPG has been flying under the radar and is set to launch in just a few weeks. Yet, we get no love for it on the main stage? Justice for Demonschool, people! Demonschool: The Biggest JRPG News Today Somehow Missed the Nintendo Indie Direct But We Won’t Let You Miss This Chance Persona Meets Tactics Done Right Demonschool slaps you right in the face with the vibes of Persona and Final Fantasy Tactics but spins them together in a way that feels fresh and, dare I say, addicting. If you’re drawn to games where the school year is somehow tied to saving the world (because that’s never been done before), you’re in for a treat. For those uninitiated, imagine juggling demon-exterminating squad strategies by night and relationships with your colorful cast of misfit friends by day. Yep, it’s one part grit, one part wholesome anime tropes, and all parts chaotic tactics fun. The game doesn’t just mimic these vibes; it embraces them shamelessly, making the whole experience feel like a love letter to JRPG enthusiasts. Is It Snubbed or Strategy? Now, I know what you’re thinking. Why wasn’t Demonschool at Nintendo’s Indie World showcase? Maybe the folks at Nintendo just straight-up forgot? Just kidding (I think), but it’s baffling when you think about it. This game screams Switch – quick battles on the go, a story dramatic enough to compete with your favorite soap opera, and bright visuals that’ll pop on that OLED screen everyone keeps flexing about. It makes me wonder, though. Did Nintendo gloss over this gem intentionally to focus on lighter, friendlier indies? Or is this the ultimate marketing underdog move? Whatever the reason, while everyone else is busy guessing which cozy game they’ll stream next, Demonschool is out here saying, “Hold my latte. Time to fight some demons.” What Makes Demonschool Stand Out? Here’s why you should be paying serious attention to this game instead of crying over its absence from the event: 1. Eccentric Cast of Characters JRPGs are known for their oddball gangs, and Demonschool delivers. You’ve got Faye, your determined and slightly sardonic protagonist, backed by a team that feels like they’ve actually been pulled straight out of an anime binge. Each brings a unique flavor to the table, both narratively and in combat, making it impossible not to get attached. 2. Modern-School Setting Meets Hellish Monsters The contrast here is chef’s kiss. One minute you’re trudging to class, the next you’re crawling through otherworldly portals to obliterate demons. The whole thing feels atmospheric in a way that screams, “Yeah, the devs are probably Persona stans.” Add a killer soundtrack into the mix, and you’ve got a game that immerses you in its world without any apologies. 3. Strategy That’s Accessible Yet Satisfying For those of you who hear “tactics RPG” and immediately break into a sweat, don’t worry. Demonschool aims to be approachable. The combat combines grid-based movement (yes, the retro tactics nod is strong) with a modern, faster-paced twist. You’re rewarded for planning ahead, but the system doesn’t bog you down with unnecessary complexity. Beginners can jump in without feeling overwhelmed, but veterans will still find enough depth to sink their teeth into. Mark Your Calendar, Already! Demonschool is set to launch soon (November 2023, for anyone asking). That gives you just enough time to practice strategic thinking and brush up on demonology so you’re ready to go. The good news? It’s hitting all major platforms, so whether you’re Team Switch, PlayStation, PC, or even Steam Deck, you’re covered. Now, don’t sit there pretending your backlog isn’t already out of control. This game needs to make the cut. Quit stalling on your 12th run of Persona 5 Royal and start making space for something new, okay? Why This Matters to JRPG Fans If you love JRPGs even a tiny bit, Demonschool deserves to be on your radar. With its stunning throwback aesthetic, compelling characters, and innovative gameplay, it’s carving out its niche in the genre and pushing it forward. And honestly? It’s about time we celebrated games that blend nostalgia with originality instead of just milking franchise sequels till the cows come home. I’m glaring at you, Final Fantasy XVI. One thing’s for sure, folks – Demonschool is not something you want to sleep on. And while Nintendo might’ve missed its moment to shine a spotlight on this gem, the internet is here to do the heavy lifting. You’re welcome. And hey, if you’re as hyped as I am, do yourself a favor and pre-order or wishlist the game. Come launch day, your future self will thank you. Visit Total Apex Gaming for more game-related news.
It's the Browns. When the Cleveland Browns drafted Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders this April, they had a total of five quarterbacks on their roster between their incoming rookies, Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett and the injured Deshaun Watson. And despite the kind of confusing nature of their stockpiling so many QBs, it sounds like the team could double-down on the the decision by the time the regular season kicks off. According to The Athletic's Zac Jackson, "the Browns absolutely might keep all four quarterbacks" heading into Cleveland's season opener. While also adding, "No, Shedeur Sanders is not going to start Week 1 for the Browns. But he's put a lot of pressure on his coaches and fellow QBs headed into this week — the biggest week of training camp as the Browns head to Philly." Fans reacted to the reporter's update on X: "At this point it's not even a QB room anymore. It's a pitching rotation now," a user said. "One as a starter, One as a backup, One to hold on field goals, And one listed as a wide receiver for tax purposes," another commented. "[Shedeur Sanders] should be developed and shouldn't be thrown out there week 1 but he should be considered to be put over Gabriel and Pickett," a fan pointed out. "While also finally getting meaningful reps with the 1's." "I'm a Shedeur fan who wants Flacco to start with Shedeur at QB2," another person replied. "Sitting behind a veteran QB can be very valuable, and you know he'd be ready if he had to come off the bench. Just my .02." "This isn't unprecedented," another user posted. "The Patriots kept 4 QBs in the 2000 season. Worked out ok for them. Not saying there's a Brady in their QB room. But if they have 4 guys who they think are NFL worthy (even if none are QB1 right now), they can make it work." The Browns have been bitten by the injury bug thus far in camp with Pickett and Gabriel both dealing with ailments this preseason — opening up a window for Shedeur Sanders to earn his way up the depth chart. Sanders played well in Friday night's debut with a 14-of-23 performance for 138 yards and a pair of touchdowns on the way to a 30-10 win over Carolina. But head coach Kevin Stefanski says the team in "evaluation mode" when it comes to their QBs.
Despite appearing in just four games for the Philadelphia Phillies, closer Jhoan Duran has already made an impact. Duran slammed the door shut again on Sunday afternoon, notching his fourth save in as many games as he closed out the Phillies' 4-2 victory over the Rangers. He has allowed just one hit over four scoreless innings, striking out three as he has retired 12 of the 13 batters he has faced since he was acquired at the trade deadline. The ninth inning had been a revolving door yet again for the Phillies this season. Closer Jose Alvarado had performed well, posting a 2.70 ERA and a 1.200 WHiP over his 20 innings, but was suspended for 80 games for violating the league's substance abuse policy. Jordan Romano has been inconsistent at best, moving in and out of the closer role as he has posted a 6.64 ERA and a 1.347 WHiP over 39.1 innings entering Monday, striking out 41 batters with 15 walks. Although relievers Orion Kerkering and Matt Strahm have pitched well, the Phillies have been reluctant to hand either the closer role. The Phillies paid handsomely to bring Duran on board. Pitcher Mick Abel and catcher Eduardo Tait are both top-100 prospects and could be building blocks in Minnesota for years to come. Moving Duran could pay long-term dividends for the Twins. Meanwhile, the Phillies have a different goal in mind — winning the third World Series in franchise history. A constant revolving door in the ninth inning has kept that goal out of reach. While it is just a four-game sample size, Duran has been everything that the Phillies could have hoped for in their closer.
Longtime New York Rangers analyst Larry Brooks has suggested that the team could name JT Miller, who was re-acquired this year, as their new captain and official successor to ex-Rangers defenseman Jacob Trouba. The New York Rangers do not have a captain right now following the controversial trade of Jacob Trouba to the Anaheim Ducks in December. But according to Larry Brooks, they may have found one. Why Naming Miller Captain Could Signal a Culture Shift for the Rangers It followed a period of tension between Trouba and Rangers management led by GM Chris Drury, who reportedly threatened to waive him if he didn't accept a trade. Months later, the Rangers re-acquired JT Miller from the Vancouver Canucks; he was taken by the Rangers with the 15th pick in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. Per longtime Rangers analyst Larry Brooks of The New York Post, the Rangers should name Miller their new captain and the successor to Trouba. The captain's sweater is not just another piece of laundry. It represents the organization's ethos. The Rangers acquired J.T. Miller to change the team culture. The 32-year-old is hard-edged and can be abrasive. That is the identity the Blueshirts should adopt. Miller was traded to the Rangers after a long public feud with Canucks teammate Elias Pettersson was confirmed by executive Jim Rutherford. JT Miller Expected to Be Named Captain of the New York Rangers, Less Than a Year After Trade From Vancouver The Canucks traded Miller to the Rangers, who took him in the 1st round of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, for Filip Chytil, Victor Mancini, and a 1st round pick in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft. Miller returned to the place where he began his NHL career, and had 35 points (13G, 22A) in the 32 games he played after the trade. If Miller does become captain of the Rangers, he would be the 29th player in team history to wear the 'C' on his sweater.
