PS Plus, PlayStation’s monthly subscription and online gaming service, offers a plethora of free and discounted games within the PlayStation store catalog. Besides the changing catalog, though, they also offer three to four free games to download each month for PlayStation 5 (and occasionally PlayStation 4 editions as well). While you can download the free games with any tier of PS Plus, you do need the higher, and more costly, tiers to access the larger libraries available. With July on the way and the games available for download from July 1 until August 3, let’s look at what is on the horizon.

July 2025 PS Plus Offers Three Free Games

PS Plus has been hit or miss with their game catalog, with many fans voicing their displeasure over the selections that have been offered. Also, although the games are technically free, given that the service itself is paid, and expensive at that, it is fair for gamers to want higher-quality games to be available. Still, if you are a subscriber to PS Plus, there is no reason not to download the games and at least keep them in your game library. For July, three games are being offered: Diablo IV, King of Fighters XV, and Jusant. There are also special releases ongoing in honor of the PS Plus 15th anniversary celebration.

Diablo IV is pretty self-explanatory, as it is the latest game in the iconic Diablo franchise by Blizzard. This dark fantasy RPG franchise is seen as the pinnacle of the genre, and the free Diablo IV version is available for both PS4 and PS5.

Also available for both PS4 and PS5 is The King of Fighters XV, a versus fighting game in which the series’ classic 3 vs. 3 battle format remains. Changing in the XV edition is the actual battle system, as well as the customizability players have to choose how they want to fight and play the game. With 39 characters to choose from, PS Plus subscribers will have plenty to be excited for with this iconic series entry.

Jusant, meanwhile, is exclusive to PS5. As PlayStation Blog describes,

“Jusant is an action-puzzle climbing game and a meditative journey to the top of a tall tower. Challenge yourself at your own pace, explore different paths, and unravel the secrets from a bygone civilization. Master your climbing tools and watch your stamina meter to successfully navigate this mysterious and changing tower.

As you go higher and hone your skills, you’ll have to figure out how best to use the tools at your disposal to get to where you want to go. Explore alternative paths to find clues about what happened here.“

Final Thoughts

PS Plus has not exactly offered fans what they are looking for all the time. That said, this month’s lineup appears to be a solid one, with the addition of multiple games from iconic series. Even fans who are not into the genres, games are games, and they can still be enjoyable, regardless of the feelings about them as a package, especially when they are free. If you have a PS Plus subscription, the 15th anniversary activities begin immediately, while the three free games become available from June 1 to August 3.
