BlueTwelveThe leak’s already made the rounds: Stray is looking to be the headline game on PlayStation Plus Essential’s November 2025 lineup. First reported by Dealabs’ billbil-kun and confirmed by IGN, Insider Gaming, and VGC, BlueTwelve’s feline cyberpunk adventure is returning to PlayStation across all tiers—Essential, Extra, and Premium—starting November 4.
Originally released in 2022 as a day-one PS Plus Extra title, Stray was quietly removed from the catalog in 2023 before making its way to Xbox and Game Pass. Now, it’s back—this time as a flagship freebie for the entire PS Plus ecosystem.
IGN’s review called it “a delightful cat-based platforming adventure in a cyberpunk world worth exploring,” awarding it an 8/10. The game also won Best Indie Game at The Game Awards 2022 and inspired an animated film adaptation from Annapurna Animation.
Sony’s decision to reintroduce Stray through PS Plus Essential feels intentional, you know, as they all are (it’s just business people)! It’s a critically acclaimed title with broad emotional appeal (and a freaking cute cat!), and its return signals a continued investment in single-player experience in a world being bombarded by multiplayer games (no hate!).
Insider Gaming describes the game as one where “you get to be stealthy, nimble, silly, and sometimes as annoying as possible with the strange inhabitants.” That blend of charm and melancholy makes it a fitting choice for a fall release—especially in a month that could’ve leaned into horror or spectacle.
VGC notes that the leak “comes ahead of Sony’s official announcement,” suggesting Stray is the flagship title for November’s lineup. It’s not a blockbuster. It’s not a live-service grind. It’s a quiet, self-contained experience that still holds weight.
Stray isn’t new. But we can see it as a reminder that small games with strong identity can still lead the pack. They don’t have to be those big name blockbusters to get the attention of the gaming world. So use this comeback game as a chance to revisit one of PlayStation’s most quietly beloved titles, and remind the devs and publishers why indie games are important!
