We’ve seen plenty of simulator games over the years (Sims being the obvious), but one has popped up that’s got eyebrows raising in interest—and suspicion. That game is Quarantine Zone, a survival sim that puts players in one of the most universally hated roles across every media source: border checkpoint officer. The job? You’re now the front-line judge in a zombie apocalypse, and it’s up to you to decide who’s a survivor and who’s infected.

So, let’s set the scene. It’s bleak. Clouds hang low in a permanently gray sky, and the stench of decay and desperation is everywhere. Your post? A ramshackle checkpoint where frightened, limping civilians line up for judgment. You’re not checking passports—no, you’re scanning for signs of infection. Coughing? Bite marks? Too sweaty? Suspicious. Send them in, quarantine them, or—if things look really bad—liquidation.
Quarantine Zone takes the moral panic of Papers, Please, and cranks it up to undead survival mode. The game forces you into uncomfortable decisions, with a gameplay loop that mixes resource management, base building, and increasingly intense defense segments. There are even strip searches. This is full-on desperation meets policy enforcement, everything we hate during an end-of-the-world event!

Developed by Brigada Games (nice name) and this is their most ambitious project yet. Quarantine Zone: The Last Check is set to release in September 2025, so coming soon! Even better is the demo that’s already available for players to download.
It’s already making waves in the gaming community, and content creators are showing off the Quarantine Zone demo! Some even take to their social media to showcase their own experiences with the demo– entertaining us with their reaction to all the moral decisions being cast upon them as they play!
The reactions to the demo have been pretty positive, but do not be fooled. If you have a deep-seated aversion to making in-game moralistic decisions, Quarantine Zone is not for you. There are some gut-wrenching choices as the game progresses, so this is not a cozy simulator game. It’s gritty, it’s grim, it’s utterly fascinating.
This game isn’t your typical zombie game—it’s a moral strategy sim that took moralistic quandaries and put them in a video game about zombies. So, if you’ve ever had the question, “What would I do if I were in charge during a zombie outbreak?” —this game will help you answer that question.
The hype for this game is slowly rising, and many YouTubers have shown off some of the gameplay, so the demo is looking pretty solid and good indicator of what the full version will have in store for us!
