Attention Trainers! A new event is coming to the world of Paldea in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, and it’s a mighty one! One of the biggest and best legendaries will be arriving on the scene as a Shiny Rayquaza Tera Raid appears in the region, it challenges trainers young and old at a chance to tame it and obtain it. Details will be below, let’s go!
A Shiny Rayquaza Terra Raid starts Thursday, December 19th, 2024 4:00 PM PST to Sunday, January 5th, 2025 3:59 PM PST. This is a major event, as today, Nintendo and Pokemon announced that there will be a 5-Star Shiny Rayquaza Tera Raid Battle event for the shiny dragon. This legendary Pokemon will be arriving to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet in its sleek black design. Nintendo announced that there will be a three-part Tera Raid Battle event leading up to the release of this legendary dragon, following will be the event schedule.
To participate in the Shiny Rayquaza Tara Raid Battles, you have to download the latest Poke Portal News by selecting the Poke Portal from the X menu, then open Mystery Gift, then hit Check Poke Portal News. You will have to have completed the Main Story to find your own Terra Raids, but if you have not, you can join other player’s raids in multiplayer. (Note: you will need an online Paid Membership to play online with other Trainers.) It is stated and common for the raid events, as long as the event is going, Trainers will have the chance to catch The Shiny Rayquaza.
Note: it can only be caught once per save, once caught, any further attempt to battle will result in only materials and rewards dropping.
The Shiny Rayquaza Tera Raid will be a 5-star event, not their hardest but I doubt it will be easy to beat. Especially as it isn’t coming with a mark so again, won’t be too difficult. This Rayquaza will be a Dragon Tera Type, making it pure Dragon Type, unusual as you would expect it to be something to counteract its current type: Dragon and Flying. Since it’s going to be pure Dragon, it will have several options. Assuming Rayquaza will keep its standard stats, it will have a balance to its Special and Physical Defense to counter one on each stat:
Assuming Rayquaza will be using STAB, when it arrives in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, having a Pokemon that can change into a Fairy Tera Type will nullify its Dragon attacks at the very least. I will be running both but would love to run my Shiny Sylveon. What will you be running? And are you going to take this chance to get a free Shiny Rayquaza?
