Star Wars Battlefront II, the popular online multiplayer game, was met with controversy upon its release, but the players who stuck around for the game’s updates and revisions eventually got a fun experience battling each other in the galaxy far, far away. Now, however, that experience on PC has been reportedly shattered by hackers.
According to IGN, the hack is preventing players from spawning during the forty-player matches. This means that they are unable to play the game. There are also reports of inappropriate messaging. While this particular hack has been going on in some form for months, in the last few days, it has apparently been infecting every mode in the game. Players have been flooding the Electronic Arts forums and the game’s subreddit, demanding a fix to this issue, but as of the writing of this article, EA still hasn’t tracked down the hacker or hackers responsible.
In the time leading up to its release in 2017, Star Wars Battlefront II was met with a swarm of controversies over its heavy reliance on microtransactions and loot boxes and how extra purchases would give players advantages in matches. In response to the controversy, EA removed loot boxes from the game right before release, and as time went by, a steady stream of updates helped elevate the game to a respected status for those who chose to stick around.
However, with this hacker problem, the game is once again finding itself in a state of controversy. If EA doesn’t track down the hackers and restore the game to a playable state, they might again find themselves the subject of player backlash that will be hard to recover from.
With no sign of a Star Wars Battlefront III any time in the near future, one has to wonder what this situation means for the future of Battlefront II. As of now, people can still play the game on consoles, but the PC players currently have to find something else to play until EA tracks down the hackers. If the situation isn’t resolved soon, players may decide that they don’t miss Battlefront II and seek out other adventures in the galaxy far, far away instead.

The Green Bay Packers’ secondary got lit up by Dak Prescott in a 40-40 tie against the Dallas Cowboys before heading off to the bye week, but help could be on the way. Through the season’s first five weeks, the Packers rank 11th against the pass, but they allowed 319 passing yards and three touchdowns to Prescott in their final game before the bye week. Help, though, could be on the way. Could Nate Hobbs elevate Packers’ secondary? With a showdown against the likes of wide receivers Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins on Sunday afternoon, a breakout star could be about to emerge. Mike Spofford of the Packers’ official website suggests that cornerback Nate Hobbs getting healthier could be a major asset for coordinator Jeff Hafley and Green Bay’s defense moving forward. “Nate Hobbs,” Spofford writes, when asked the player he’s most looking forward to see the rest of the season. “He’s getting further removed from his knee procedure during training camp, and he’s also back on the practice field after leaving the Dallas game to be evaluated for a concussion. I don’t think we’ve seen the best of Hobbs yet in this defense.” Hobbs has appeared in three games for the Packers this season, posting 10 total tackles, one pass breakup and one tackle for loss. Given that the 26-year-old had the added time during the bye week to get further away from the injury he suffered during the summer, he could be a player whose best football this season is still in front of him. That would be huge for a defense looking for consistent playmakers to step up.
The Pittsburgh Steelers gave up 299 yards on the ground in their playoff loss to the Baltimore Ravens to end the 2024 season. It was a loss that clearly stood out to the organization, highlighting the urgent need to improve their run defense. Heading into the 2025 NFL Draft, the Steelers made it a priority to address the defensive line. In the first round, they selected Derrick Harmon, a player known for his ability to disrupt running games and anchor a strong front. Harmon’s selection brought significant excitement to the team and its fanbase, signaling a clear effort to stop the run in the future. While Harmon was the headline grabber, the Steelers also found a hidden gem in fifth-round pick Yahya Black. Quietly, Black has been making a strong impression during offseason work and training camp. His combination of strength, technique, and ability to read plays has made him stand out as one of the biggest steals in the draft. Despite being a later-round selection, Black’s development suggests he could provide the Steelers with important depth and impact on the defensive line sooner rather than later. Steelers Defensive Line Coach Karl Dunbar spoke with the media about what went into evaluating Black. He highlighted the process of identifying under-the-radar players who have the potential to exceed expectations. Black’s selection reflects Pittsburgh’s careful approach to the draft. In this case, Dunbar thought he was able to see something that tape didn't. "We were lucky enough to get him in the fifth round because some of his college tape didn't really show who he was," Dunbar said. "But when I worked him out, and I was around him, I thought he could help us." Dunbar explained that the film Black put out at Iowa did not fully showcase his abilities. However, the Steelers coaching staff was able to see his potential despite what the tape showed. At the NFL Combine, Black ran a 5.39-second 40-yard dash, which Dunbar believes actually worked in Pittsburgh’s favor and reinforced the team’s belief that Black had the tools to succeed at the next level. "It worked out great for us, because I think he ran a 5.4 [second 40-yard dash time] at the Combine," Dunbar said. "I don't think that his Combine time was indicative to his play speed. So I think that's what's helped us out just to get him in the fifth round." The Steelers have not hit a home run with Black just yet. It is still very early in his NFL career, but even in the early stages, he is performing ahead of the typical fifth-round pick. Pittsburgh originally drafted him with the idea that he could provide depth down the stretch, but Black has quickly made it difficult to keep him off the field. Steelers' Yahya Black Not Under The Radar Anymore So far, Black has quietly excelled as an under-the-radar rookie. However, he is no longer a hidden gem. Expectations have grown, and he is now counted on to make plays consistently. The rest of the season will not be easy, but Black will look to build on the momentum he has created and continue proving why the Steelers took a chance on him. When Black first started trending upward in the offseason, it was all fun and games. Now, however, he is no longer under the radar. Steelers fans will expect him to build on this high praise as the 2025 season continues. Hearing Dunbar speak about what led to the Steelers drafting Black was super interesting.
Happy 32nd birthday to six-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro tight end George Kittle! Unfortunately for Kittle and the San Francisco 49ers, the nine-year veteran from Iowa is spending his birthday on injured reserve as he recovers from a hamstring injury he suffered in Week 1’s 17-13 win over the Seattle Seahawks. While there was some hope he might return for their Week 6 clash against Tampa Bay, it looks like Kittle will have to wait until their matchup with the Atlanta Falcons in Week 7 to return. "He's doing good, but I think it'd be a long shot for this week," Shanahan said. "Just talking to the doctors a second ago, probably looking more like the following week." Despite missing Kittle (and a slew of other important pieces), the Niners have managed to post a 4-1 record through the first five weeks of the season with players like Mac Jones and Jake Tonges stepping up when needed. Which brings us to today’s quiz. Kittle came into the 2025 NFL season with back-to-back 1,000-receiving-yard seasons and four in his career. With that being said, how many of the NFL tight ends to reach that milestone can you name in six minutes? Good luck! Did you like this quiz? A NASCAR Xfinity Series star won't be running things back with his current team in 2026. On Wednesday, Harrison Burton, driver of the No. 25 Ford for AM Racing, announced that he will not return to AM Racing in 2026. Burton joined AM Racing for the 2025 season after he and the Wood Brothers parted ways at the conclusion of 2024. Harrison Burton undecided on future plans Burton made the Xfinity Series playoffs with AM this season — the organization's first NXS playoff berth — and has 10 top-10 finishes this season. Burton was eliminated from the postseason following the Oct. 4 race at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval and is 12th in the Xfinity Series standings with four races remaining in the season. "I want to thank AM Racing, Tim Self, and Wade Moore for the opportunity and trust at a pivotal moment in my career after I lost my Cup seat entering 2025," Burton said in a statement posted to social media. "This season reminded me why I love competing; the teamwork, the focus, and the fight. I'm super excited about the next chapter and will announce my plans at a future date." Regardless of what series Burton lands in, the team that nabs him will be very fortunate. While his Cup Series tenure yielded few results, he's proved himself to be a solid driver who can compete for championships in the Xfinity Series and can run up front at the Cup Series level.
