Star Wars Outlaws: Pirate’s Fortune First Look at DLC Gameplay

If you thought Star Wars Outlaws was done with wild hyperspace chases and underworld drama, think again. At Star Wars Celebration Japan 2025, Ubisoft dropped the first look at Pirate’s Fortune, the upcoming story DLC for Star Wars Outlaws. And if the trailer is anything to go by, it’s a high-stakes treasure hunt through the galaxy’s grimiest corners.

Here’s what we saw—and why this expansion might be your next big heist.

Locked Up, Blasting Out, and Teaming Up

We open with Kay Vess—our no-nonsense protagonist—fighting for her life in the middle of a chaotic space battle. Asteroids, wreckage, lasers, the whole cinematic package. Things go south fast, and before we know it, Kay crash-lands in a jail cell. Classic smuggler problem.

Her cellmate? None other than Captain Hondo Ohnaka, the galaxy’s most charming, questionably loyal pirate. If you’ve seen Clone Wars or Rebels, you know Hondo: always scheming, always grinning, and always in the middle of some ridiculous plan. He’s “between crews” (his words), but he’s got a lead on something big—like “buried pirate treasure that could change everything” big.

Kay, Hondo, and Nix (Kay’s adorable, lizard-y companion) form a makeshift crew, and just like that, the chase is on.

A Pirate’s Life, Raiders, and a Tomb Full of Trouble

Pirate’s Fortune’s story picks up after the Star Wars Outlaws main events, sending players deep into the galaxy’s underbelly to find treasure hidden within the Khepi Tomb. Standing in your way? A nasty rival gang led by Stinger Tash and the Rokana Raiders, ready to light you up the second your boots hit dirt.

New fights, new factions, and a familiar tone that blends pulpy adventure with criminal swagger—if you loved the base game’s mix of cinematic storytelling and open-world danger, this expansion looks ready to deliver.

New Factions, New Toys, More Trouble

In Pirate’s Fortune, you’ll get access to the Miyuki Trade League, a new faction offering smuggling contracts and ship upgrades. Yes, you read that right—more loot and customization for your ship, the Trailblazer. If you’re the kind of player who maxes out their gear before starting the main quest (you know who you are), this is your moment.

Final Thoughts: Hype or Hype Trap?

So far, Star Wars Outlaws: Pirate’s Fortune looks like it delivers everything we want from a Star Wars DLC: new lore, chaotic criminal vibes, and more excuses to fly recklessly into battle. Hondo’s back, the treasure’s real, and the blaster bolts are flying.

But can it live up to the main campaign? That’s the question. Based on this first look, though, we’re optimistic especially if it lets us do more crimes with fewer consequences.
