The Best Upgrades To Get In Cronos The New Dawn

One does not simply jump into Cronos The New Dawn because you will have your digital butt handed to you and then slapped out of your hands by Orphans. This is hardcore survival horror, where picking your upgrades is crucial with every Core and Energy point. So grab your notepad, because we’re about to break down the upgrade system that’ll keep you breathing longer than a few minutes.

Cronos The New Dawn’s Upgrade System Will Make or Break You

First rule that Cronos The New Dawn runs on is that it’s not interested in holding your hand. The game throws you into a nightmare scenario where resources are scarce, much like decent Wi-Fi in rural areas (Bloodborne vibes are all over this). You’ve got two main currencies to worry about: Cores (the fancy, rare stuff) and Energy (your bread and butter).

The upgrade system isn’t just some nice-to-have feature you can ignore while button-mashing through enemies. It’s literally the difference between becoming a legendary survivor or ending up as a monster breakfast. And trust me, nobody wants to be breakfast (let alone brunch, lunch, supper, dinner, and dessert).

Essential Suit Upgrades That Actually Matter

Inventory Slots: Your New Best Friend

If I had to choose one upgrade that changed my entire Cronos The New Dawn experience, it would be inventory slots. For just one single Core can bump your carrying capacity from six to seven slots. “Big whoop,” you might think, but that extra slot is like finding a twenty in your old jeans – unexpectedly life-changing.

That seventh slot means you can carry that extra ammo stack when things get dicey, or hold onto those bolt cutters without playing inventory Tetris every five minutes. Pro tip: Upgrade this puppy twice more when you can afford it. Your future self will thank you when you’re not constantly juggling items like a stressed-out street performer (we all played Resident Evil, so let’s learn from that).

Suit Integrity: Because Nobody Likes Being Squishy

Solid truth: in Cronos The New Dawn, you’re going to take hits—lots of them. One key preparation step to take is to reinforce your suit. The Suit Integrity upgrade gives you more HP to get more time to decide on your fight-or-flight. In survival horror terms translates to “more chances to not die horribly.”

One upgrade level here goes a long way. You don’t need to max this out immediately, but having that extra buffer between you and a game-over screen is worth its weight in Cores. Think of it as insurance for when your dodging skills inevitably fail you during a boss fight.

Resources Limit: The Hoarder’s Dream

Once you start collecting Metal Scraps (and you will, like a post-apocalyptic magpie), the Resources Limit upgrade becomes your saving grace. Being able to carry more crafting materials means less time managing inventory and more time actually playing the game. This upgrade is especially clutch because it prevents that soul-crushing moment when you find valuable resources but can’t pick them up. After all, your pockets are already full of other essential junk.

Handgun Stability: Stop the Shake, Save Your Ammo

The Sword MK-1615 Handgun is going to be your trusty companion for a good chunk of the game, so you’d better make it count. The Stability upgrade should be your first weapon investment because nobody likes their gun jumping around like an excited puppy when they’re trying to line up a headshot.

Charged shots become infinitely more manageable with improved stability, which means less wasted ammo.  And in Cronos The New Dawn, wasting ammo is like throwing money into a fire pit – satisfying for about two seconds before you realize facepalm yourself. You can’t let your companion run dry as soon as you start a fight (hopefully you upgraded your suit first to take the hits).

Handgun Firepower: When You Absolutely Need Things Dead

After you’ve got your aim sorted, dump 3,000 Energy into the Handgun Firepower upgrade. Yes, it’s expensive enough to make your wallet weep, but the damage boost is noticeable enough that even the toughest enemies start respecting your presence. Gun stability + high firepower = less HP and ammo wasted. Simple math.

Shotgun Firepower: The Boss Destroyer

Once you snag the Hammer Shotgun (and you absolutely should follow a walkthrough to make sure you don’t miss it), prioritize its Firepower upgrade over everything else. The damage increase is so substantial that you’ll wonder why you ever struggled with boss fights. This upgrade essentially turns your shotgun into a portable nuclear option. Suddenly, those intimidating Orphans become significantly less intimidating when you can blast them into next week with a couple of well-placed shots.

Charge Speed Upgrades: Because Timing Is Everything

Both the handgun and shotgun Charge Speed upgrades are what I like to call “quality of life” improvements. They’re not game-breaking, but they’ll save you from those heart-stopping moments when an enemy lunges at you mid-charge. The suspense will kill ya before the monster finds ya.

The Shotgun Charge Speed upgrade deserves special mention for close-quarters combat. When something nasty is breathing down your neck, every millisecond of charge time matters. You never know what and how many Orphans are around the corner to rip you apart. You are the one collecting souls, not the other way around.

Smart Resource Management Tips

Remember, Cores can be stored in safe room boxes and accessed from anywhere in the game. Saving these power babies for a long-term goal is ideal for future upgrades on your agenda. Energy also needs some sort of strategic spending, even though it flows more freely. Don’t blow your entire bankroll on the first shiny upgrade you see. Make a plan because more weapons and upgrade opportunities are always around the corner.

It All Comes Down to Planning

Surviving Cronos The New Dawn isn’t just about quick reflexes and knowing when to run (though those help). You want to be making smart upgrade choices that compound over time. You want to survive? Plan ahead. Start with inventory slots, beef up your suit’s integrity, and then focus on weapon upgrades.

It’s practically putting on the right PPE to suit your playstyle before you can stand against the fray. The upgrade system might seem overwhelming at first, but once you nail down these essentials, you’ll be cutting through the darkness like a properly equipped survivor instead of stumbling around like monster bait.
