EA is taking Closed Beta feedback seriously, with key gameplay and mode fixes already in the works

The FC 26 Closed Beta wrapped up in late August, but the conversation around it has only gotten louder. Players who jumped in from August 6–26 didn’t hold back—forums lit up with frustration about unstoppable low-driven shots, AI defenders that felt superhuman, and Career Mode contracts that left managers scratching their heads. For a Beta designed to gather feedback, this was exactly the kind of passionate response EA wanted. Now, the studio says it’s not just listening—it’s already moving on fixes ahead of early access on September 19.

Here’s a breakdown of the biggest complaints and EA’s planned fixes:

  • Low-Driven Shots: Goalkeepers reacted too slowly, making these shots almost unstoppable. EA promises improved GK reactions before launch.
  • AI Defenders: Many felt defenders were unrealistically fast, but the issue was tied to ball trapping animations slowing attackers. EA is fixing the animations for better balance.
  • Attacking AI Positioning: Players noted constant offsides and poor runs. EA says attackers will now recognize open space faster and time runs more effectively.
  • Career Mode Contracts: Confusing messaging made renewals frustrating. Weekly updates and clearer willingness signals will now guide managers.
  • Clubs Archetypes: Progression felt underwhelming. EA plans to increase Attribute Points awarded at level 1 and per level.
  • Dribbling in Wet Weather: Heavy touches led to unnecessary turnovers. EA will adjust wet weather touches in a Live Tuning Update.
  • Be A Goalkeeper: Players complained of save delays and inconsistency. Cross claiming, save assistance, and animation coverage are all being tuned.

With these updates, EA is showing it intends to act on feedback before the game launches worldwide on September 26.
