The Destiny 2 Dawning Event Presents An Opportunity to Feed a Good Boy

The Destiny 2 Dawning Event has been around for years. Players get the chance to bake cookies, deliver them to characters in the universe, and throw snowballs at combatants. In the 2025 Dawning, snowballs are coming to the Crucible. Two new members of the Destiny universe can receive cookies during this year’s event: Rebecca Dean from Kepler and Archie, the Guardian’s favorite robotic dog. The Dawning runs from December 16 and will run until January 6, 2026.

Dawning Snowball Fight

Snowball Fight is coming to the Crucible for the 2025 Dawning event. Players have the opportunity to throw powered-up snowballs at opposing Guardians. No weapons or abilities are enabled in this Crucible activity. The snowball will kill with one hit, so bring your A-game to become a snowball legend.

For players who have not played the Dawning before, here is a quick rundown. Killing various enemies, with different weapon types, grants ingredients. These ingredients, along with essence, combine to bake cookies for specific members of the Destiny 2 universe. The list of potential candidates and their respective cookies is:

There are three Dawning Weapons up for grabs. These will drop from Portal events and should be in a +1 gear tier if they follow the same event rules. Players can trade in Dawning Spirit for Dawning Engrams for more chances at dropping a weapon. The three weapons are:

Mistral Rift: Adaptive Frame Void Linear Fusion Rifle
Permafrost: Wave-Frame Stasis Grenade Launcher
Fimbulwinter Stitch: Precision Frame Arc Sidearm
