Marvel Rivals is delivering one of its biggest content weeks yet, and whether you’re here for exclusive cosmetics, balance changes, or the latest group emote craze, there’s something for everyone. From the new Ancient Powers Awaken event pass to a free Doctor Strange skin and the first-ever duo emotes, this week is packed with exciting additions.
The Ancient Powers Awaken mini-pass has arrived and is expected to cost around 690 Lattice, in the same way the previous events passes have been priced. The pass includes a variety of cosmetics, currency, and hero skins, including one epic-tier free skin for all players.
The free reward this time is the Old Man Strange skin, part of the Wastelanders Collection. This version of Doctor Strange features aged silver hair and intricate glove detailing. It appears to lack an MVP animation but still offers a visually rich take on the hero. Other pass rewards include sprays, nameplates, Chrono Tokens, and unstable molecule materials.
The highlight of the pass is without a doubt the new Reborn King in Black Venom skin, which appears on the final page. With full voice lines, animated effects, and an MVP animation featuring the symbiote dragon, it sets a new bar for visual and audio design in Marvel Rivals. Venom’s abilities are accompanied by fiery effects and deeply immersive sound work that adds a fresh edge to gameplay. And how can you unsee that creepy Eddie Brock face?
The Phoenix Fist skin for Iron Fist is another standout in the pass. It brings a fiery, mystical look with glowing hands and a refined martial aesthetic. It includes its own MVP animation and fiery-themed emote, giving the skin a polished finish despite its epic-tier designation.
Each skin in the event also comes with a unique emote. Venom casually reveals Eddie’s face under the symbiote. Iron Fist charges up his chi with flaming hands. Doctor Strange pulls out the Book of the Vishanti for a quick read. And Mantis delivers a playful nod to internet culture with a “kitty shadow” meme animation.
This week’s only new store skin is the Iron Man Extreme Armor, and it’s a legendary-tier release with a full cosmetic bundle.
Tony Stark dons a symbiote-infested suit with glowing green accents, a Null swirl on his forehead, and custom animations. The bundle includes a legendary intro and MVP animation, with Stark riding the symbiote dragon seen in the new map. There’s also a unique emote where he checks himself out in a mirror—complete with the internet-famous “rizz face.”
All of his abilities are enhanced with symbiotic sound effects. However, some players have noted a lack of visual FX on certain abilities, which could hint at future VFX upgrades being sold separately. The skin costs 2,200 units and includes an animated nameplate and spray.
A free Master of Blackmagic Doctor Strange skin is available for a limited time via the NVIDIA app. Players can claim the skin by downloading the app, navigating to the rewards section, and redeeming a code in-game under Settings > Bundle Code. This skin typically costs 600 units but is free until September 19.
Marvel Rivals has introduced its first group emote—a synchronized interaction between Jeff the Land Shark and Emma Frost. When the two heroes are nearby, the emote transforms into a hug animation that plays out between them. It can also be used solo for a different version.
This feature marks the beginning of what looks to be a broader rollout of duo emotes, with potential future pairings like Venom and Winter Soldier already teased through leaks. The system’s exact mechanics are still unclear, but players can expect more interactive emotes in future updates.
Blade receives a meaningful buff this week. His lifesteal during Bloodline Awakening increases from 60% to 65%, while his healing penalty drops from 40% to 35%. This results in a net gain of 6% lifesteal, improving his sustain in key fights.
Human Torch sees a slight nerf to his area denial abilities. Flame Field’s damage over time drops from 25 to 20 per second, and Pyro Prison’s DoT goes from 50 to 40. These tweaks aim to reduce his passive zone control.
Loki is also being toned down slightly. His primary fire damage is reduced from 30 to 25, and this applies to his clones as well. However, his healing remains unaffected, so players who rely on Loki’s support play won’t notice much change.

Blade – Stun Interaction Bug:

Blade – Cleaving Strike Effect:
The Slow effect from Blade’s cleaving strike after Daywalker Dash now displays correctly on enemies.
Hulk – Transformation Visual Glitch:
Addressed a visual issue where transforming into Hero Hulk while entering a portal could cause texture errors.
Groot – Costume Sync Fix:
Fixed a visual mismatch where Groot’s Wild Wall didn’t properly align with certain costumes.
