Unfall Rocket Sidearm: Destiny 2’s New Pocket Monster That Loves Sturm

Alright, let’s talk about the new hotness. With Ash and Iron finally dropping, we’ve got a fresh batch of toys to play with, and let me tell you, the Unfall rocket sidearm is turning some heads. Not only is it a pocket rocket (who doesn’t love those?), but it’s the first weapon since Drang to play nice with the Sturm Exotic hand cannon. Yeah, you read that right. So, is this thing worth the grind? Let’s dive in and see what makes this little monster tick.

How Good is the Unfall, Really?

Look, rocket sidearms are just plain fun, and the Unfall is no exception. It’s basically an Arc version of the Indebted Kindness, which we all know and love. But here’s where it gets spicy: Unfall comes with some unique Arc-synergy perks that give it a real identity.

While Voltshot is great for zapping weak enemies, Unfall’s Jolting Feedback is where the real party’s at. This perk practically guarantees you’ll jolt tougher enemies like Majors, and even minors if you’re playing under-level content. This isn’t just another rocket sidearm clone; it’s a tool designed for a specific, electrifying purpose. If raw damage is more your style, you can also roll for One-for-All or the returning fan-favorite, Master of Arms.

One more thing to geek out about: its reload speed. Unfall boasts the second-highest base reload speed among its rocket-propelled brethren, sitting at a respectable 38. Sure, it’s not the lightning-fast 55 of the Lotus-Eater, but it’s quick enough that you don’t need to waste perk slots trying to fix a sluggish reload. This opens up options like Tactical Mag for more boom-boom in the chamber.

For PvE, Unfall is an easy A-Tier. It’s strong, versatile, and brings some fantastic Arc utility to the table. But for PvP? It’s a hard pass. We’re talking D-Tier. The archetype just doesn’t hang in the Crucible.

What is the Best Unfall God Roll?

So you’re sold on the PvE potential and want to farm your own perfect Unfall. What should you be looking for? This Arc rocket sidearm can roll with some seriously tasty perks. Let’s break down the godroll you’ll want to chase.

Perk Pool:

  • Perk 1: Disruption Break, Beacon Rounds, Sleight of Hand, Lead from Gold, Impulse Amplifier, Reverberation.
  • Perk 2: Master of Arms, Binary Orbit, One-for-All, Deconstruct, Jolting Feedback, Rolling Storm.

Velocity or Blast Radius

When it comes to rocket sidearms, you’re always trying to find that sweet spot between blast radius and how fast the rocket gets there. Quick Launch gives a nice velocity boost without penalties, while Volatile Launch leans into a bigger explosion. I’d go with Tactical Mag for the extra three rounds in the mag, which is a significant boost.

For your first perk, it’s a no-brainer: Lead from Gold. This perk is just too good to pass up on a Special weapon, turning every Heavy brick you find into a little ammo top-up. It keeps you firing without having to stress about ammo economy.

In the final column, your choice depends on your build. Jolting Feedback is the star of the show for Arc builds, making it incredibly easy to apply Jolt to high-health targets. If you’re not running an Arc build or just want a universal damage boost, One-for-All is a fantastic choice. Hitting three enemies is a piece of cake with the weapon’s splash damage, giving you a chunky 35% damage buff.

What About a PvP God Roll?

Don’t. Just… don’t. With a projectile-based archetype that feels inconsistent at best in the Crucible and a perk pool clearly aimed at PvE, trying to make Unfall work in PvP is an exercise in frustration. There are countless better options. Save your sanity and keep this one for taking on the Darkness.

How to Get the Unfall Sidearm

Ready to start the hunt? Unfall drops from Portal activities, specifically Solo Ops and Fireteam Ops. You’ll want to keep an eye on the daily Bonus Focus, which can increase your chances of getting the weapon to drop when you finish an activity. It’s a bit of a grind since the loot pool is pretty big, but if you focus on days when Unfall is the featured reward, you can seriously speed up the process. So, get in there, Guardian, and good luck with your rolls!
