Dread Meridian is a new VR horror game, where you play as Daniela, a researcher who goes to a remote arctic island on a mission to find her missing twin sister, Isabella. This is a survival horror adventure game, slated to release on Steam and VR. A trailer and demo became available a couple of days ago, and here are all the details of the game we know so far.
The trailer starts with a lot of scary imagery, torn bodies, empty and abandoned buildings and hallways, a gun, and a record player, all the while Daniela is narrating the plot of the game to us. It’s pretty scary, and you can feel the dread of the main character as she becomes increasingly desperate to uncover secrets about her sister’s disappearance. The trailer doesn’t reveal much, which makes it a good trailer, but it does its job in engaging the audience through immersion and the terrifying creatures Daniela must face while searching for her sister.
And let me tell you, the monsters are stuff out of nightmares. They are ugly, terrifying, and gruesome. This is a full-on mystery horror adventure, and the further down the game you go, the more invested you’ll become in Daniela’s story. Apparently, resources are limited in this game, and using them is a part of your strategy.
The demo of the game became available a couple of days ago on Steam. The demo dropped during Steam Next Fest, and the game is currently set to release on SteamVR and Meta Horizon sometime next year. There is no release date as of yet; however, it is available to wishlist now. When you wishlist, you will get live updates on new content for the game, as well as a release date, so if you’re interested, don’t forget to add it to your wishlist.
