I hope you’re ready for another scary game! The Epic Games Store is giving away a horror game for PC and Mac, as well as a fun puzzle game for mobile. The games are only free until Oct 30, so don’t wait to claim your copies! Read on for more details.
Free for PC and Mac from the Epic Games Store, “Fear the Spotlight” is a third-person horror-adventure with puzzle elements, in the style of 90s horror. Play as Vivian, who sneaks into creepy Sunnyside High with her more rebellious friend Amy. The school has a dark secret, and after performing a seance, the friends become separated. There’s a monster wandering the school, and Vivian has to avoid it while searching for Amy, finding the truth about the school’s history, and avoiding the light.
“Fear the Spotlight” has controller support and cloud saves. It’s a single-player only game. But, upside, it’s available for Mac as well as PC! And, since it’s usually $19.99, this is a real savings opportunity.
The Epic Games Store on mobile has a freebie for us this week, too. It’s another puzzle game from the “Doodle God” universe. In “Doodle Farm,” instead of combining elements, you combine animals to create new ones. For example, you could put together a cat and a dog or a duck and a herring. Other elements like a rainbow can have interesting results like horse and rainbow giving you a unicorn!
There’s an interesting game feature to learn about the animals you create, too. When you create a new animal, you can visit the corresponding Wikipedia page! This one looks like a fun, whimsical puzzle game with an educational twist.
Whether you want to play on your PC, Mac, Android, or iOS device, you can find the download information on the Epic Games Store website. If you’re on a computer, you can download the Epic Games Launcher to access and play your games. I know that’s not exactly shocking, and you probably figured that out already.
For the mobile games, you’ll need the QR code. Use the camera on your mobile device to scan the QR code, which will direct you to the download page. You will have to enable downloads from other sources. (Other than the native app store, that is.) This app isn’t available on the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. After installing the app, launch it, sign in, and then scroll down to find the current free game.
And that’s what we have for you this week! Check back next week, and we’ll highlight the new game offerings from the Epic Games Store. We’re staying on top of the latest gaming news, so you don’t have to worry about any FOMO.
Happy gaming!
