The hype train for WWE 2K26 is already leaving the station, and as usual, fans are scanning every roster hint with a magnifying glass. With each new leak or quiet update, speculation ramps up over legends, modes, and which surprise names might sneak into the game. But this time, one absence is making noise for all the wrong reasons—and it’s not exactly subtle.
According to a new update shared by SmackDown Hotel, an upcoming WWE SuperCard event featuring Mick Foley has been quietly taken down. The report notes that the removal appears deliberate, suggesting that steps are already being taken to phase the WWE Hall of Famer out of active WWE-related content.
With WWE 2K26 on the horizon, the timing raised immediate red flags for fans who expected Foley to be a lock as a Legends inclusion.
That concern didn’t come out of nowhere. Just days earlier, Mick Foley publicly announced that he is parting ways with WWE in a lengthy Instagram post that laid out his reasoning in clear terms. Foley explained that he has grown increasingly uncomfortable with WWE’s relationship with Donald Trump, citing what he described as cruel and inhumane rhetoric and actions by Trump’s administration.
Foley said that after reading comments made following Rob Reiner’s death, he decided he could no longer represent a company he feels is aligned with values he strongly opposes.
In the post, Foley confirmed he has informed WWE Talent Relations that he will not make any appearances for the company as long as Trump remains in office. He also revealed that he will not be renewing his Legends contract when it expires in June—an important detail when it comes to video game licensing.
UPDATE: The upcoming SuperCard event featuring Mick Foley has been taken down, suggesting that removal measures are already underway.

Without an active Legends deal, Foley’s likeness becomes far more complicated to use, which directly impacts his chances of appearing in WWE 2K26.
While nothing has been officially confirmed by WWE or 2K, the combination of Foley’s public stance and the reported SuperCard removal paints a clear picture. If the separation holds, one of the most iconic figures in wrestling history may be missing when WWE 2K26 finally arrives—marking a rare but notable absence as anticipation for the game continues to build.
