Good news for all the body horror fans and simulation sickos out there: Zoochosis is making its way to consoles. Originally launched on Steam in September 2024, this first-person, found-footage-style nightmare from Clapperheads is now officially headed to PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.

There’s no exact release date yet for the console ports, but it’s coming—and that’s enough to stir the parasitic hype. Even better? They’ve expanded, updated, and upgraded the game for our horrific pleasure.

Wait, What Even Is Zoochosis?

If you haven’t played it yet, here’s the breakdown: Zoochosis is a first-person sim-horror hybrid where you play as a newly hired night shift zookeeper. And right out the gate? It’s not normal.

You’re asked to sign an NDA before you even feed your first animal. Red flag? Yeah. Big creepy uncle vibes from the head zookeeper who gives you the tour.

But as you settle into your routine of feeding and cleaning? You start noticing that some of the animals are acting a little… off.

Spoiler: they’re infected. And not in a “cute cough and sneeze” kind of way. We’re talking full-blown parasitic mutation, turning once-normal animals into horrifying eldritch beasts that look like they crawled straight out of a fever dream—or worse, a scientific experiment gone rogue.

Find the Infection. Stop the Spread. Try Not to Cry.

Your job? Figure out which animal is infected, locate the parasite, and stop it from spreading. If you’re too late? Say goodbye to that animal—because once the transformation completes, it’s game over for them (and possibly you).

And all of this? Happens while you’re still trying to do your basic zoo tasks. It’s like Zoo Tycoon, but if Lovecraft handled the DLC.

Many players have reported full-on emotional meltdowns when they failed to save an animal in time. Combine that with the game’s immersive body cam footage style, and it’s safe to say Zoochosis doesn’t hold back.

Final Thoughts

Zoochosis was already a cult favorite on PC—and now it’s creeping toward PlayStation. If you like your horror smart, immersive, and full of mutated crocodiles with extra limbs, this is one to watch.

We’ll let you know when a release date drops. Remember, save the animals!
