Today is Monday, May 4, and five days remain until the Las Vegas Aces open the 2026 season. At Dice City Sports, we are counting down to opening tip as the defending champs chase a fourth championship in five years while we rank the top 14 players in franchise history.

Kelsey Plum

Plum checks in at No. 5 after helping build the Aces into a champion. Across seven seasons with San Antonio and Las Vegas, she averaged 14.3 points, 2.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists in 235 games.

Plum grew from the No. 1 overall pick into one of the league’s top guards. She won Sixth Player of the Year in 2021, then made the All-WNBA first team and finished third in MVP voting in 2022. That season, she averaged 20.2 points and 5.1 assists while helping Las Vegas win its first WNBA title. She added another All-Star season in 2023 and helped the Aces repeat as champions.

Why she ranks here

Plum ranks this high because she became one of the franchise’s best scorers and a major part of two championship teams. Her shooting, playmaking and 2022 breakout season helped define the Aces’ rise.

Background

Plum was born Aug. 24, 1994, in Poway, Calif. She played at Washington and attended La Jolla Country Day in La Jolla, Calif. The San Antonio Stars selected her with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 WNBA Draft.

Career check

In 278 WNBA games, Plum averaged 15.1 points, 2.6 rebounds and 4.3 assists while shooting 43.0% from the field, 38.4% from 3-point range and 88.5% from the free-throw line. She is a four-time All-Star, two-time WNBA champion, 2022 All-Star Game MVP, 2021 Sixth Player of the Year, 2017 All-Rookie pick and 2022 All-WNBA selection.

Next up tomorrow: No. 4.
