A’ja Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces are now 21-14 on the season after capturing a commanding win against the Dallas Wings (9-26) on Sunday at the Michelob ULTRA Arena.
Wilson had another milestone night scoring 34 points, making this her 8th game 30+ point game, leading the league. She also passed Ruth Riley on the league’s all-time block list, with 507 for her career.
Chelsea Gray not only forced a game-winning turnover, but she scared 10 points and tied her franchise record with 14 assists. Kierstan Bell came up big for the Aces, scoring 18 points. NaLyssa Smith followed with 14 and Jewell Loyd with 12.
Paige Bueckers scored 18 points for Dallas and Maddy Siegrist scored a high of 23 points.
In the first half, both teams kept up the pace, going shot for shot until the Aces took a 14-12 lead over the Wings. Dallas then went on a 6-0 run, but the Aces came right back at the 2:06 mark with a 9-2 run to give the Aces a 23-20 lead.
To close out the first half, the Aces led the 55-44 lead.
The Aces continue to extend their lead into the second half. Dallas tried to chip away at the Aces lead by the 5:33 mark, 61-55. The Wings wouldn’t get any closer to closing the gap. Las Vegas outscored Dallas 20-11. At the 6:04 mark, Dallas got a little bit closer to the Aces, cutting the lead to 86-74.
The Aces closed out this game, going on a 15-2 run to end the night with a 101-76 win over the Wings.
Las Vegas has won their seventh game in a row.
