Becky Hammon made a bench addition Tuesday night, hiring Nola Henry as an assistant coach for the Aces ahead of the 2026 season.

“Nola brings a fresh, young coaching perspective to our group this year,” Hammon said in a team release. Hammon called Henry “a very cerebral coach” and said her ability to connect with players will matter as Las Vegas chases another championship.

The hire lands as the Aces move into a season built around celebration and pressure. Las Vegas opens May 9 at T-Mobile Arena against Phoenix in a Finals rematch, and the team has already announced a ring ceremony and banner plans as part of its early home slate.

Henry said she is “excited and honored” to join the organization and called the chance to work with Hammon and coach “the best players in the world” a privilege.

Recent WNBA stops, plus a Chelsea Gray connection

Henry arrives after serving as an assistant coach with the Dallas Wings in 2025. Before that, she worked with the Los Angeles Sparks, joining the staff as a player development coach in 2023 and moving into an assistant coach role in 2024.

She also has a recent link to the Aces locker room. Henry coached Unrivaled’s Rose BC the past two seasons, a team that included Aces guard Chelsea Gray.

Work in Connecticut, start in college

Henry spent three seasons with the Connecticut Sun from 2020-2022. During that stretch, she rose from intern to assistant basketball operations manager, according to the release.

Before she reached the WNBA, she coached as a graduate assistant at Fairleigh Dickinson in 2018-19. She then took the same role at the University of Hartford in 2019-20.

Henry began her college career at Massachusetts. She later transferred to the College of Charleston, where she finished as a two-year starter.

What comes next

Hammon’s staff adds a coach with player development roots and recent WNBA bench experience. Training camp will show how Henry fits into the day-to-day and what she brings to a veteran roster that expects to be playing deep into the fall again.
