Aces Fever
The Aces beat the Fever 86-75 in their previous game and are looking to sweep the season series with a win today. A’ja Wilson led the Aces in their last game after missing a game due to injury, scoring 27 points. Wilson struggled offensively, shooting just 11-28, but she had a huge impact on defense, blocking three shots and stealing two.

Last game, the Aces bench stepped up, scoring 30 points, led by Alysha Clark’s 14 points off the bench, while the Fever bench only scored 11. Tiffany Hayes had another great game, scoring 12 points and making three three-pointers.
The Fever, on the other hand, struggled outside of Kelsey Mitchell (24 points) and Caitlin Clark (16 points). Clark struggled, shooting only 6-22 from the field and 1-10 from three.Aliyah Boston also struggled fouling out, finishing with just six points.
This game will be different in that both teams will make changes and approach it like a mini playoff series. For the Aces, guard play will be critical, so expect Kelsey Plum and Jackie Young to be more aggressive this game, particularly if the Fever continue to throw doubles at A’ja Wilson.
As for the Fever they will need some production from their bench in this game because the bench scoring was really one of the biggest differences in the last game. They will also need a stronger performance from Aliyah Boston and Caitlin Clark to win this game.
The key players coming into this game outside of Caitlin Clark and A’ja Wilson for the two teams will be Aliyah Boston and Jackie Young. Aliyah Boston is a vital player for the Fever, and they need her to remain out of foul trouble since she is crucial to their offensive effectiveness in the pick and roll with Caitlin Clark, as well as their top rebounder.
Jackie Young is an important player in this game since she is back at home in Indiana, but she has slowed down since returning from the Olympic break, so this might be a game to get her back on track with the playoffs approaching.
It will be interesting to see how these two teams match up tonight, with tip-off slated for 4:30 p.m. and the game airing on ION.
