Aces Players Look To Take Over Unrivaled League

Chelsea Gray, Jackie Young and Dana Evans all play for the Las Vegas Aces but in the offseason they become rivals. All three play for different teams in the Unrivaled League in Miami, Florida. All are looking to take over for a chance to beat their WNBA teammates while also competing for a championship.

Unrivaled is in its first week, with most teams having played two games so far. Team Rose and Breeze are undefeated at 2-0, while Vinyl and Hive sit at 0-2.

Aces’ Takeover

Gray plays for Rose, leading the charge and averaging a league-best 29 points per game, along with five rebounds, 6.5 assists and two steals per game. In her first game against the Lunar Owls, she went ballistic with 35 points to lead Rose to its first win of the season. Coming off the league’s first championship last season, she is coming out swinging, averaging 7.6 more points per game than her championship season. With help from Azura Stevens and Shakira Austin’s near-double-double averages, this team is looking like the favorites to win the championship once again.

Young is playing for the Laces this season, who stand at 1-0 and sit third in the league standings. She is the team’s second option behind Brittney Sykes, who is averaging 19 points and seven assists per game. Young is averaging 15 points, five rebounds and one assist, along with one block and one steal per game. With near-identical numbers to last season, she and the Laces look ready to cause some trouble this year.

Evans has unfortunately been out to start the season with the Phantom due to a left lower extremity injury. With the Phantom starting 0-1, they are looking forward to seeing Evans make her first appearance on the court soon. In her first year playing in Unrivaled, she will be looking to dominate and take down anyone in her path to the championship.
