The Las Vegas Aces set off on their third title quest against the Phoenix Mercury on Friday, October 3 at 5pm PT.
The game will be nationally televised on ESPN.
The Aces are fresh off of a last second, overtime win to put away the Indiana Fever in a 5-game series.
Las Vegas does have an advantage, the own the homecourt in the opening game of the finals, hosting games 1 and 2, if necessary, game 5.
The Aces face a rested Phoenix team, who closed out their series against Minnesota on Sunday.
For the 2025 season, the Aces lead the series against the Mercury 3-1 with 2 of those wins coming on the road.
Las Vegas averages 80.8 points per game and is shooting 43% from the floor, 43.8 rebounds, 18.3 assists, 6.5 steals, and 4 blocks against the Mercury.
In the first matchup between the two teams, MVP A’ja Wilson missed due to being in concussion protocol but averaged 25 points per game and shot 44.2% from the field and grabbed down 15.7 rebounds per game against Phoenix.
Jackie Young is another big factor for the Aces. Young has averaged 14.8 points, 5.3 assists, and 4.5 rebounds per game against the Mercury.
The Mercury are led by All-Stars Alyssa Thomas, 2021 Finals MVP Kahleah Copper and Satou Sabally.
In the playoffs, Thomas’ numbers improved, averaging 18.6 points per game while adding 8.4 rebounds per game. Copper has averaged 15.0 points per game during the Mercury playoff run. Sabally has added 17.9 points per game respectively.
The Mercury do own the postseason record 9-5 over the Aces.
Game 2 will be played Sunday, October 5 at the Michelob ULTRA Arena, tipoff is scheduled for noon. The game will be nationally televised on ESPN.
