The theme of the Las Vegas Aces this offseason has been adding depth however they can.
So far, the backcourt has witnessed serious turnover. Exiting Las Vegas this offseason are guards Kelsey Plum, Sydney Colson and Tiffany Hayes, as well as forward Alysha Clark. To counteract this exodus of talent, the Aces received guards Jewell Loyd and Dana Evans in separate trades, and have made significant signings such as Cheyenne Parker-Tyus, Elizabeth Kitley and Tiffany Mitchell.
On Tuesday, the Aces made another move to bolster their roster depth.
By signing a deal, the Thessaloniki, Greece native is hoping to land a roster spot with the Aces for the upcoming season.
Drafted by the Mystics 20th overall in 2023, Tsineke was selected after a breakout campaign with the University of South Florida, where she averaged 17.9 points per game. Unfortunately, Tsineke never played a regular season game and was waived by the team. She now has an opportunity to live up to her potential with the Aces.
The Aces will not say no to more depth or offense from the bench, as they hope to rebound from what was a disappointing campaign.
Sure, the Aces advanced all the way to the WNBA semifinals, which stands out as a major accomplishment for most teams. A team that was hoping to complete a threepeat, however, does not fall in that category, so they come into the season with something to prove. Despite all the sweeping changes the Aces have faced this offseason, three-time MVP A’ja Wilson is still the heartbeat of the team, and the roster around her is strong enough to suggest a deep postseason run is on the horizon.
To complete that objective, the Aces need contributions up and down the lineup, and they hope Tsineke can provide what they are looking for.
