The Las Vegas Aces have been busy this offseason with roster moves to achieve a championship caliber squad.
On Wednesday, the team announced that they waived Jordyn Jenkins. Jenkins was signed to a training camp contract on April 21.
The 6’0 forward, hails from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Jenkins became the first player from UTSA’s women’s basketball team to sign a contract to play with a WNBA team.
During her time at UTSA, Jenkins averaged 19.2 points, 7.1 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.1 blocks per game. She also shot 48.2 percent from the floor and 34 percent from three-point land.
The move comes on the heels of the Aces first preseason game against the Dallas Wings on Friday.
The Aces then close out their preseason in Phoenix on May 6. The team will then focus their attention on preparing for the season opener against the New York Liberty on May 17.
The Aces fell to the Liberty in last season’s WNBA Semifinals.
