After hours of negotiations, a new CBA deal is finally in place, but with progress comes new challenges.

A major task ahead of the upcoming season is the signing of nearly 80% of the league’s players who are set to become free agents. And no name draws more attention than four-time MVP and three-time WNBA champion A’ja Wilson.

And while Wilson is currently one of the best players across the league, she didn’t even rank among the top 25 last season when it came to salaries. However, that’s bound to change as an insider report suggests that the LV superstar is expected to resign with the Aces on a WNBA supermax contract.

But this isn’t just a deal for her undeniable talent; instead, it’s a reward recognizing the sacrifices she has made for the team’s success. After all, she has remained loyal to the franchise since being drafted.

A’ja Wilson has also publicly expressed her commitment to the team, especially when talks about her leaving Vegas were doing the rounds last year.

“I think everyone knows where my heart is. My heart’s always going to be in Vegas,” Wilson said. “If I leave, it’s because they sent me away. I love it here. This is my second home, and I don’t see myself leaving.”

But in recent times, there has been murmuring about A’ja Wilson potentially leaving the Las Vegas Aces to sign with a Bay Area franchise.

The Golden State Valkyries Rumors

From as far back as February, there have been talks of Wilson being a marquee free agent target for Joe Lacob and the Golden State Valkyries.

What fueled the speculations more was the possibility of Wilson’s partner, Bam Adebayo, moving to the Golden State Warriors. Insider reports suggested that A’ja Wilson would follow suit by moving to the Valkyries so that they could become a Bay Area basketball power couple.
